We were there for shopping and happened to find this indian restaurant. Stopped for dinner at around 6:30 in the evening. Ambience is good. We should have asked for more spicy as it tasted mild. Otherwise food is good. Looked a bit understaffed though. We had to wait a bit to be seated and food to arrive.

My family and I always dine at Taj and it is truly a wonderful experience! It is probably one of the only Indian restaurants in Rhode Island that I would recommend to others because of the authenticity. Truly every food item on the menu is authentic and delicious! It is always such a pleasant experience and I truly cannot recommend it enough.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Rhode Island! The food always tastes delicious and the servers are very friendly and polite. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in RI.

Taj is amazing! There is something for everyone here, the possibilities are delicious and endless! I try to order something different each time I go, but one of my all time favorite dishes is the Tadka Daal with a Mango Lassi. The owner and his family are very nice and friendly. If you’ve never tried Indian cuisine before they are happy to help pick out something for you. Everything is very fresh and made to order so expect to wait a little bit because it’s very busy! (Always a good sign; and well worth the wait!) Do your tastebuds a favor and go check out all Taj has to offer!

The reviews said that this is the best Indian restaurant in the county. If that is true, I guess I’m living in a different county. To begin with, the service is absolutely despicable. The guy managing the restaurant was extremely rude and condescending. Even war zones are probably less hostile. It is absolutely bewildering how anyone could be so socially inept to make meaningful human social interaction. Going at an early dinner time, my party of 8 sought to get quick refreshments so we can continue to explore Rhode Island. Thus, we only ordered some appateizers and drinks to fulfill our limited appetite at the time. However, the manager seemed to act extremely irritated and bombarded us with agitated remarks on why we didn’t order any entrees. Since when we’re waiters allowed to dictate how much their customers could eat. He also claimed we were hindering their restaurant’s capability to serve people as he claimed they were on a very busy schedule. However, only about 40% of the restaurant was occupied with around 14 tables completely empty. This behavior lead to a completely uncomfortable dining experience. Furthermore, the food was quite mid and not a good place to go to if one is seeking authentic Indian food. In short, if you are looking forward for an original Indian dining experience with welcoming staff, look somewhere Else

Well, when you’re tired with american food, this is the place where you can get your satisfaction without making your wallet light. First of all, the quality of the food is fantastic. We ordered Samosa, Pan fried momo, Mutton curry (man, that was crazy!), Chicken biriyani, White Rice and Lamb chops. Everything was filled with perfect flavors. I am not very good at handling hot spicy stuff (except my future wife :3), but I enjoyed my fullest there. So, you can order whatever you want and I guarantee your hard earned money won’t be wasted. My recommendation is the Mutton curry.

Let me first start off by saying that the food was very authentic and fresh, and I highly recommend a visit. My only knock was most likely due to a staffing shortage, as 1 person was visible doing everything to wait on all tables. Food took a while to arrive.

Amazing, amazing, amazing! We were walking past this new restaurant and wanted to check it out. The food came out just amazing, the naans were full of onion and garlic making it the best we have ever tried. We also tried the fried okras which is 10/10. The cauliflower tasted great too. The waitress Ritu was also very knowledgeable and recommended some of the dishes that were outside of our comfort zone and tasted great! Will definitely come back!

Don’t go there. We are party of 8. It was early evening. We thought of having a little meal after a beach trip. But the server was asking us/ forcing us to take main course. This is ridiculous. He also includes the service charge for 18 dollars in the middle of the bill. Food is also not so good. I am not going to this restaurant anymore. Don’t take your customers for granted.
