We’re excited to share that our Indian restaurant is entering a fresh new chapter! We’ve moved away from the old “pick-a-meal” style and now serve every dish in a generous 16-ounce container with a side of rice. This change helps us stay consistent with flavor, quality, and portion size, giving you the best experience every time. Our focus is shifting toward a true dine-in atmosphere with warm hospitality, authentic recipes, and freshly prepared meals that reflect the heart of Indian cooking. Whether you’re joining us for lunch, dinner, or a quick take-out, we are dedicated to bringing you bold flavors, fresh food, and an inviting place to enjoy them.

Absolutely love this place! It’s small quiet and so much options where to sit they have an outside patio as well. Place is clean and service was amazing so was the food definitely a new favorite! Definitely will be coming back highly suggest you try their food! Everyone was so friendly and the food was better than expected they offered a pitcher of complementary water and later after we were done eating they offered us some chai tea that brought my husband down memory lane. Can’t wait to come back!

Just ate here for the first time and wow, the food is delicious! I started with the samosas and they were amazing. The pastry was light and crispy, the filling was dense and flavorful (I thought I tasted cinnamon, but I could be wrong). My main was the veggie wrap and I was shocked! The woman at the counter told me they take a while to make, which surprised me because I think of a wrap as a simple, fast sandwich alternative. That is not the kind of wrap they make. This wrap is a full meal. It’s dense of insanely flavorful. They bake the ingredients with the naan bread wrap. Yes, it took a while to make, but it was totally worth it. And it’s a steal at $10.99. It’s three meals worth of food. I chose medium spice, which was good, but I will try full spicy next time.

This is a truly amazing family owned spot. All of the food is FANTASTIC (I love the chili chicken and Saag Paneer especially), the mango lassi is to die for, and the owner is so kind and generous. Honestly the best South Asian food I’ve had in a very long time.

I’m so glad we found this place in Chico. We had a pleasant dining experience. The service and the food were excellent. We ordered shahi paneer, bhindi masala, butter chicken, and masala chai. Everything was flavorful and delicious; we even ordered an extra chai. The staff was friendly and generous. I can’t thank them enough for being so kind as to gift us an entire meal that another family had ordered but ended up leaving behind due to a miscommunication. That was truly unexpected and greatly appreciated on our part because we had a delicious free meal the next day!

I completely understand your pressing need to defend your business, but the facts still remain. Your staff showed no customer service, professionalism nor integrity and did not offer any plates for a dine-in order as their claiming! Please review your security footage again — someone had actually vomited and left it next to the car in the parking lot, which we tried to avoid when walking out.
Additionally, please do not claim there was a manager present when there wasn’t. This is consistent with many of your past reviews mentioning the same issue
– no manager available when needed.
Your staff was unprepared and unable to manage basic customer service. We did not use any profanity, contrary to what is being claimed. We were speaking among ourselves and expressing frustration about the poor service we experienced.
I will continue to stand by my honest review And opinion!

We stopped here after visiting a family member at Enloe. It was our first time in Chico, and we wanted a decent meal before our 2-hour drive home. What we experienced at Taj was beyond unacceptable. When we walked into Taj, we placed our order at the register with a young girl who seemed very inexperienced and struggled to take the order correctly. She had to write everything down first and then enter it into the register, as it was clear she couldn’t multitask.

We clearly ordered our food for here, and when I asked where to sit, she told us “anywhere.” We waited 30–40 minutes, only for them to pack everything to go. This was frustrating because we couldn’t eat all of that in the car. When I told her it was for here, she insisted it was to go. We also realized they never gave us our drinks until we asked, and even then, no plates were offered for dining in.
When we asked for a manager, the same child claimed she was the manager—which is absurd and shows the lack of professionalism at this place.

We requested a refund and left all the food and drinks untouched because the whole situation was mishandled from start to finish. Instead of apologizing, they rudely told us they could give us plates now.

This was one of the most unprofessional restaurant experiences we’ve ever had—zero customer service, zero accountability, and a completely incompetent staff. To top it off, as we were leaving, someone in the parking lot was throwing up after eating there. That alone says enough.

One of the best things you can do for a small business is to vote with your dollar.
Second best is to leave them a great review.
In a community over saturated with Mexican food, give Taj a try. You will not be disappointed. If you find yourself easily intimidated by their menu, don’t fret, I got you covered. Keep it simple and start with the Chicken Curry, add heat/spice to your liking. I really enjoy mine set at Medium. 10/10 Recommend
It was a very present experience and I will be taking my family again.

As someone from India, I was really impressed with how authentic the food taste tasted. The flavors reminded me of home perfectly spiced and full of taste. The staff is so warm and welcoming, and the portions were very generous definitely one of the best Indian restaurants I have had give them a try.

Wife and I decided to try out Taj as our anniversary meal out, I have had indian food one other time before but it was my wife’s first time.

Lady at the counter was absolutely wonderful and helpful, the food portions were great for the price. If you want a good meal get the special combo, $22 bucks each but you get three entrees, rice, a drink, naan and a delicious rice pudding desert.

Was enough for wife and I both to fill up and have a second meal of leftovers today. Food was absolutely delicious, spicy but extremely flavorful so a great balance to everything. The garlic naan was to die for and had a good amount of garlic on it (wife and I love garlic so most places don’t use enough in our opinion).

Food was so good my wife wants to go again next weekend and I am absolutely inclined to do it again. Absolutely worth the visit and revisit.

EDIT: Several months later, the special combo is no longer and the buffet style is gone. We were disappointed, but the food is still delicious and is still one of our favorite places to go.

I don’t remember who worked there that recommended it, but tried the Chicken Pakora with our order today and it was honestly my new obsession it was so good!

OMG the best food I had ever had! I was so happy to see this little girl serving out food to me. It reminds me of myself when I was young helping out the family business and doing my homework. I saw the girl doing her homework at table and at the cashier. She looks like she has a bright future! My food came so fast by her being my server. I think if I remember her name was Gurneet and she was so kind and friendly to me that I had a great conversation with her! Great place to eat out at a family business!

Good place to try out some north indian dishes with good taste and friendly service.
# Food is good you have many options to select from.
