Absolutely in love with Taj.Go here for the well seasoned staff and good eats. We would recommend all 3 Nan breads, the Samosas,& the mango shrimp Masala with a side of Basmati rice is also a must. ps you have to order at least one of their featured cocktails The ginger Tumeric Martini is perfection if you like citrusy cocktails.

This is NOT authentic style Indian food and a bit pricy when there are better and cheaper options in nearby cities. However, the atmosphere was enjoyable, they had friendly service, and the teas and coffees are awesome.

Welcome, Taj, to the Gloucester dining scene! We tried take-out last week and felt the food was fresh and delicious. Everything we tried was savory and scrumptious, and I was very pleased with the perky chopped salad as a light accent to some of the more traditional dishes. We will be back!

Finally! Indian food in Gloucester, we used to drive down to Waltham. This place is unique and delicious. Classic dishes, my fav the Saag Paneer, was amazing. Spicy dishes were getting me sweaty. Apps bomb, I have tried the Samosa and garlicy potatoes, and I would recommend both.
Have yet to try to the drinks but there was some negroni that caught my eye. Maybe next time!
Quick update, soups change seasonally but don’t be afraid last three have been unique and amazing

I was missing Indian food as I am a north Indian. I visited taj and tried their garlic naan with paneer tikka masala and I LOvED it. Garlic Naan was filled with good amount of cilantro and garlic which I have never seen in any Indian restaurants in usa. It’s become my new favorite.
Paneer tikka was rich and delicious, it wasn’t typical paneer tikka curry we get in usa but I LOVED the flavors. I admit this was the BEST Indian food I have had in usa and I have lived and visited many Indian restaurants in past 5years. TAJ doesn’t have a lot of variety but I loved their naan and tikka.

I was so excited to see that there was an Indian restaurant in Gloucester! I immediately picked up the phone and placed an order just to try the place out. We order some basics on the menu – garlic Naan, vegetable samosas, and chicken Tikka massala. The staff was nice and had everything ready as soon as we got there, it was right on time no waiting.
It smelled amazing in the bag when we picked it up so we were excited.
Once we got home and sat down to eat is where everything just. My husband has always been the one to eat the samosas so he thought they tasted fresh and homemade but we agreed definitely bland and smaller than what we are used to. The garlic naan had pretty good flavor but was so flat! I mean like paper flat! Naan should be a little thick and fluffy even for a flat bread. Now for the chicken Tikka massala. A staple in just about every Indian restaurant and something I’ve eaten for years and have learned how to make bc I love it so much! As soon as I took a bite I put my fork down. I asked my daughter who is 14 to come try it without saying a word to her. She said “what is that?!” I said chicken Tikka massala and she laughed. She said “no it’s not! It’s tastes like nothing!” It tasted like boiled pieces of chicken put into a bland watered down version of what they think is a Tikka massala sauce. I was so disappointed. On top of all that the portions are small! It was not enough for two to share. All that for 30$? I’ll keep driving to Beverly thank you very much.
