Hainan Chicken Rice specialty store. That’s the only thing we do here. It is the famous dish from South East Asia. Know anyone from there? I bet they know about this dish. We are doing it Thai street food style. It is our favorite thing in the world and we are doing our best to represent here in the US. Family owned.

Ordered online their original hainan chicken rice. Unfortunately, the chicken was dry and tasted old. Their (brown?) rice was mushy and not fluffy. Their sauces were disappointing with no fresh ginger or chili included. I’m used to having it along with broth but it didn’t even come with that. My go to spot is Heng Heng Chicken Rice 2 but since they’re closed from December 22-24, I thought I’d give this place a try. And it was more expensive here $17.66 than Heng Heng’s $14.50
I don’t think I’ll order from here again unless the quality improves.

Love Taishi Hainan Chicken. Usually get their Steam Hainan full of flavor and Big Volume. Their chicken soup is so warm and healing. Had their white broth Ramen and soup taste is bland but still chicken was juicy. At least it is fixable by adding Sriracha and stuff. Also bland is good when you are not feeling great and don’t have appetite the white one is go to. It like chicken soup for cold but in a Ramen version. The Black broth, I had a sip, had more pepper like flavor. Definitely give them a try!

So I thought the mixed chicken was yummy and everything was about right. Right portions and flavors. The boba was good flavor but the boba itself was mushy liken pudding. The rice was a little mushy too. I think I’ll be back, it’s got great choices and a lot to go for. But let me say the pho was average. Nothing amazing. Great prices for the food I my though.
I’m not a big fan of whatever happening with the design. I can’t tell if it’s all Asian countries or just a few. It’s like korean, Japanese, Chinese and a little Vietnamese for spice.

Great local gem tucked into a small strip mall at Torrance and Prospect. When the previous restaurant in this location closed it was a sad day because the lady who ran that place was an artist and a master. What a pleasant surprise to have another great spot in the same place. Taishi Hainan has continuously expanded the menu with new flavors, dishes, noodles, and even boba teas. The original and friend chicken are both amazing.. the friend is perfectly crispy and very tender while the steamed chicken has subtle flavor and perfect texture. Use a little less sauce to let the flavor shine through. The garlic dumplings and chicken soup are also next level. Plus they are open LATE.. nothing good here is open late.. so that is awesome. The food comes out quickly and hot, and the prices are totally reasonable, quality is high and portions generous.

Taishi Hainan Chicken was pretty good! The flavors were tasty and I enjoyed the dish overall. The chicken was a little drier than I expected, but hopefully next time it will be a bit more moist and tender. I’m looking forward to coming back and trying the fried version too. Excited to see how it compares!

One of my favorite dishes in Thailand is Zaap fried chicken. When I saw this on the menu I was very excited to try it. Unfortunately it missed the mark. The amount of culantro and red onion was sparse, and there was simply not enough sauce to make it feel like true Zaap flavor.

Don’t come here. This is the WORST Hainan Chicken I have ever had. I feel catfished by the restaurant name. Instead, this place should be called “boiled dry chicken”.
As someone who has had authentic Hainan chicken, I will confidently say that this place is a DISHONOR to Hainan chicken. There is no flavor, no skin, and nothing similar to Hainan chicken. They give you these sauces to dip the flavorless chicken.
The people who enjoy this place have poor taste. I hope you get to experience real Hainan chicken, and you won’t find it here.

I’ve ordered out a few times and the food has always been great! This last visit I ate here in person and the service was great! The kind lady who took our order and brought all our food to the table was nice and very helpful. They have free chicken broth if you eat inside and it’s very good. My wife always gets the half and half plate and I get the smoked teriyaki. The sauces are so good and they really make a difference. They have never gotten my order wrong and are always nice and accommodate my substitutions when I ask. Thank you guys for the great food!

Small sit down , a lot of take out . Choices of either steamed or fried chicken . Both very tender . The rice very good . As t the suggestion of the the person at the counter taking our orders , for 6; he suggested we order the family meal , which had half and half of each kind . Different sauces, sweet, spicy , and choices of chicken broth soup or herbal broth. We ordered both . Several types of sweet teas. All very reasonably priced !! Very pleased with service , food .

Not a traditional Hainan chicken place.
Fried Hainan was all right but didn’t have that Hainan chicken taste. Sorta just tasted like fried katsu or karage.
Complimentary chicken broth was very odd. Tasted like they pour dishwater into chicken noodle soup. Did not enjoy that at all.
Chicken pho was decent? Tasted like mid pho broth combined with chicken stock so it’s passable.
