sometimes i get the banh mi special here, and i mean overall it’s pretty good (i mean i do keep
coming back) but i wish it wasn’t as … sweet? i really enjoy banh mi for its mixture of sweet, spiciness, and freshness, but the banh mi here is just really, really sweet. wish they’d add more peppers as well, or at least give a spicy option like hank’s.

the fried chicken’s delicious though, nothing to say there.

So I Typically order the tofu hoagie from Tais which is amazing and I’ve gotten many friends hooked on it, but I thought that I should try their tofu veggie pho and see how I like it.
First of all, it was arguably the best noodle soup I have ever had. Full of tofu, cabbage, bell pepper, onion, and broccoli, as well as the add on sauces, lemon, and Thai basil, it was super filling and made me wish I had more.
The broth is light but flavorful and the Thai basil had a bit of an anise and minty flavor go it, but when I added the tomato sauce/base to the soup, the Thai basil became spicy almost.
So this dish is one that will fill you up and repeatedly change flavors
10/10 recommend

Pretty good but not great. Boba is always warm and overcooked but flavor of tea is good!! I would pick hanks over tais boba any-day. I wouldn’t recommend getting any of the dishes that come over rice as they give you only a few pieces of meat/tofu and add so many onions, rice, and peppers. For it being 13 bucks there should be more that 4 pieces of meat. This is just my experience and what I’ve noticed. I’ve heard the pho is really good tho!

Their boba is 1000/10, and way better thank Hank’s in my opinion. The tea is always just sweet enough and they always put a lot of boba.

Good food, very very affordable prices and nice staff. I love ordering with the older lady who is really friendly, but a bit strict at times (like my grandma used to be). The food is always warm and the flavors are amazing. A must try for vegetarians. Btw, they can customize most of their dishes to replace the meats with tofu.

This, being my first Vietnamese experience, is what I compare all others to. Though I can’t speak for their pho (as I’ve never had it), I can definitely say that their rice and rice vermicelli dishes are the best in the city for the price. My go to dish is the double chicken vermicelli bun with spring rolls (which isn’t on the menu, I just ask for it). I’ve also had the sweet and sour soup, which is utterly amazing (it has pineapple) and the Vietnamese style sweet and sour chicken (with rice, fresh green peppers and an amazing S&S sauce). If you call ahead, the service is as quick as you need it to be, and if you like sweet tea, theirs is the sweetest.

The menu is extremely diverse and I haven’t had a regretful dish yet.

Love the hoagies, its much cheaper compare to other places in south philly. Great location since its right in Temple University campus. Really exciting to see a Vietnamese food court here.

An unsatisfactory Pho noodle experience, with overly excessive sweetness and a lack of freshness. Additionally, there is an extra 75-cent charge when using credit or debit cards for payment.
