Delicious food, good portions. Staff was so pleasant. I ordered egg roll, hot&sour soup, spicy crispy shrimo, and orange chicken. Everything was flavorful and plated nicely. This was the first time I’ve ever had Spicy Crispy Shrimp. It was served with leeks, onions, and some tiny sweet fruit pieces. It was not saucy. Prices are very reasonable. I will be back!

Quaint restaurant in a quiet plaza.
We came here during a week night, we were the only persons until half an hour later, another party of three came in.
Restaurant is clean, minimum decoration.
We ordered a chicken broccoli and a Kung Pao chicken, both dishes are quite OK, much better than the other Taipei in downtown, but it’s not really worth to spend almost $50 for a just OK meal.
The lady, probably manager was the only one we saw, she greeted, took orders, brought the food, the bills etc…she was very nice, very attentive, and efficient!

Got the fish in Sichuan sauce, general tso and vegetables. Oh and house lomain
The fish was ok. Not enough seasoning for my taste.
The house lomain was so salty that it made everything else seem like there was no salt
The vegetables were ok.
The general tso… I almost drove the 12 minutes back and threw it back at them.
It was soggy and lukewarm at best.
The sauce had to be just a watery, pre-made or store bought sauce.
Disgusting.
And just way too expensive
I’d skip this one fellas.

TLDR: The most edible part of the meal was the rice.
I concur with some other opinions. The selection we got was on the “miss” side. All dishes and especially the 3 cup chicken had no to little flavor. Just… very disappointing to eat, I have cooked much better at home.
Edit: On further effort to finish the 3 cup chicken, I must downgrade to 1 star. This is much worse than Costco rotisserie chicken.

The dry-pot cauliflower at this Taipei cafe shop was very generous in portion. The Cantonese roast duck was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside—absolutely delicious! The owner was very nice; I’ll definitely come again!

The roast duck at Taipei Cafe is truly exceptional in Raleigh! I’ve bought four roast ducks from them, and the taste is incredibly authentic! The General Tso’s chicken is sweet and sour and delicious, my daughter’s favorite!

Taipei Cafe has a new owner. A friend took me there for the first time. It was a new restaurant with a fresh look. All the dishes were well-prepared, especially the signature dish, Golden Sand Salt and Pepper Crispy Fish Slices, which were coated with a thick layer of egg yolk and had a rich and refreshing flavor. I will also recommend it to my friends to eat.

Have been a few times recently and seems to be hit or miss. Ordered the sauteed boneless roast pork appetizer and it was 2/3 onions with a very small amount of thinly sliced pork. The spring roll was good, egg roll was only okay- the wrapper was chewy on the inside. The green beans are hit or miss.. last time we were there they were phenomenal, hence why we ordered again, despite their steep price tag ($14 for string beans..) and the 2nd time they weren’t as flavorful. Hubby got the Singapore noodles and they were quite bland and the pieces of chicken were tiny shreds. We get this dish at another restaurant and the chicken and shrimp are huge at the other place. The staff isn’t rude but they certainly don’t seem to be fond of us when we come in with a large group.

A surprisingly good and authentic-tasting Taiwanese restaurant despite the typical Chinese take-out atmosphere. The stir fried cumin lamb was so tender and fragrant with warm spices served on a bed of sautéed cabbage. The rice cake stir fry was delicious, and my kids liked it a lot. The beef and broccoli was done very well. The spicy fried intestines were also tasty, with a great crisp and warm szechuan flavor. I still have a mapo tofu in the refrigerator to try later. I would definitely get more items from the menu again.

The food at Taipei Café is absolutely amazing! The Peking duck is incredibly delicious — crispy skin, tender meat, and full of flavor. The salty egg fish is definitely their signature dish and a must-try! All the other dishes are generous in portion and truly yummy. The new team is very friendly, and the service is fast and attentive. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves authentic and satisfying Chinese food!
