If you’re craving a truly European dining experience in the Midwest, Tailleur on Main absolutely delivers. We opted for an early dinner, and even though it gets dark early this time of year, that actually worked in our favor because upstairs the lighting was perfect. Dim enough to feel romantic, bright enough to appreciate the space.

The ambience is classy with gorgeous attention to detail. The seating is a bit close knit, so prepare for an intimate setting, but the décor more than makes up for it. There are mirrors everywhere, something any woman can appreciate since it eliminates those mid date bathroom trips just to make sure you still look cute.

Service was quick, friendly, and knowledgeable. I ordered a Dark and Stormy, and it was delicious: strong, balanced, and crafted well enough that it didn’t taste like straight liquor, which I always appreciate.

For food, we shared the mussels and the Double Royal burger with fries. Portions were generous, definitely enough to split and still have leftovers. A lot of upscale spots tend to skimp on quantity, but that wasn’t the case here at all. And honestly, niche reference, but that burger might be the best I’ve had since the Carnival Cruise burger. It was that good. The mussels were solid too, but the burger absolutely stole the show.

Overall, I’d recommend this spot for cocktails with the girls or a cozy, intimate date night. I’m already looking forward to coming back.

We came here because we saw a video on Tictok about this place and it looked really cool. And believe me, it is. The best thing about this place is the vibe. The decor itself is fun to just sit and look at. It’s like a museum. The building and what they have done with this place is a marvel! But the menu is quite small and neither of us found something that we were really excited about. Also, their drink selection is limited. My daughter works in the service industry and was shocked at the lack of choice of liquor/ beverages they had. The food was okay. I’m glad we went because it was a cool place but I probably won’t go again. Parking was limited and a bit sketchy where we parked. I think the area is being revitalized and in a year it will look completely different.

My husband and I had the most wonderful Valentine’s Day high tea experience. The atmosphere was absolutely lovely. It was elegant, cozy, and perfect for a special occasion. Our waitress was so attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed and truly enhancing the experience. Every detail felt thoughtfully done, and it made our day feel extra special. We will definitely be coming back for another high tea experience!

Hands down one of the best restaurants in KC. Absolute vibe the second you walk in. Honestly not sure what I liked more, the ambiance or the decor. Both are dialed all the way in.

The food was amazing across the board. We ordered almost everything on the menu (no regrets) and not a single dish missed. Every plate came out on point.

On top of that, the owner Heather and the staff were absolutely wonderful welcoming, attentive, and genuinely made the night better.

This place nails food, atmosphere, and service. Can’t recommend it enough.

Great food for a special occasion. My friend ordered pork shanks, my order was trout muniere. The trout was adequate, the shank delicious. Our server was attentive and wonderful.
Note that this place has dark walls and dim lighting, and the menus have tiny, script lettering. Which is to say that it can be difficult to read the menu; bring your reading glasses.
When one uses a credit card to pay, they add a 3% card fee to the bill.

Absolutely awesome ambiance, food and service! Perhaps some of the best lamb chops I have ever had. Prepared perfectly and with the best flavor. I finished up with a very decadent flourless chocolate cake……UNBELIEVABLE!! The service was spot on and very attentive and courteous. Can’t wait to return some day.

French cuisine that is masterfully prepared. The decor is very appealing. Our server, Skylee, was most helpful in assisting us making food choices. This is a fine place to dine located on the street car line. I highly recommend checking this restaurant out. Parking can be tricky. The restaurant has a private parking lot off of Walnut Street. I received a text from the restaurant instructing is where to park. That was most helpful. Reservations are probably a good idea especially during busy periods.

Wanted to like this place but just way over priced for ordinary, average food. I’m out of over $100 for a meal I could made at home & MUCH BETTER. Save your money folks cause with the exception of the friendly servers & lovely , interior ambiance, the food quality & the value added, just isn’t there. ‍♂️….wine was good tho… Oh, they charge a 3% credit card fee.

Having lived in London for over five years, I can confidently say this was nothing more than a cheap American imitation of what they think “tea time” should be. The food was very underwhelming—the breads were stale, the flavors on the trays were disappointing, and the tea wasn’t served in the traditional British manner, of amazing loose leaf tea, with fresh crumpets or large butter croissants. The overall atmosphere felt pretentious and overly excessive.

The first photo shows their food; the second is from Kensington Palace Tea Room—an enormous difference in quality, atmosphere, and price. Perhaps their dinner service is better, but I won’t be coming back to find out. Overpriced for poor tea service and certainly not an authentic experience.

We had a valentine’s day dinner here and it was flawless start to finish! Entry feels like a cute bistro off-street, walking into a gorgeous and polished interior. The decor is moody, dark, and detailed to a formal romantic style with gallery walls and homey- euro feeling diorama. Seating is comfortable, and tables aren’t crowded. The music fit the space well too! We had the bread, beet salad, trout, and filet with a soft drink and a juice. They offer mocktails which is fabulous for us sober folks! And the bar is clearly capable of customs. The menu was concise without feeling limited, and curated perfectly by the chef and the kitchen team. Everything was plated beautifully, too. From the host, to manager Chris and our server Daniel, staff were poised, efficient, professional, and fun. They were the stars of the show. Details are not missed, we will be back and I’m telling my friends!
