Food was just OK. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and it came without the bacon Took a really long time to get the food even though we were one of 2 tables there.

giving one star because 0 is not an option. The service was horrible. It was not terribly busy there were maybe 6 tables. Took forever for someone to sit us and get us drinks. Then after an hour and 5 minutes the waitress finally comes over and tells us our food is being prepped??? one hour and 30 minutes later our food comes out and my fish tastes, like Chicken and I am a vegetarian. It would have been nice if the waitress would have come out after a half and hour and checked on us. but the service was just awful. and the food was not that good either. Will never go back there. not friendly at all.

Went on Tuesday for wings. Looked busy in the parking lot but actually wasn’t bad inside. My husband and I sat at the bar and the bartender/”manager” wasn’t very friendly or welcoming. She seemed too busy for anyone and didn’t pay much attention to anyone… very big turn off.

We ordered 20 wings, two mixers, two beers, and two shots. After 1.5 hours we asked if we could have a doggy bag for 6 wings and received a “we can’t let you take them home” comment. She claimed it was written in the menu and quickly walked back to the kitchen. When she came back I asked if I could talk to the manager and she said she was one. She then made a snooty comment about how she was a “manager” and would grant us a to-go box as a courtesy…

We chuckled it off, checked out, and left. We have no plans to return in the future due to their service and attitudes… the wings were pretty bad, too. The sauce was just dumped on the top and not even mixed in.

Since the new ownership we have not been there much because the head chef left. We really miss his amazing 13 hour smoked brisket sandwiches! They were to die for! It was a great place to go since we knew most of the staff-some had been there for years
but the change in ownership has cleared most of them out. At least they have kept the recipes the same even though the prices have gone up for the exact same quantity of food. Service can be iffy due to the high staff turnover. Hope this will improve with time. Will continue to try every so often to see if things have improved.

This was my first time back at Tailgators in two years. I didn’t like it, it was kinda empty and the blond lady bartending was more interested in playing bar dice, getting the football pool going & ignoring me than my drink order. If it was busy I’d understand but it wasn’t. I guess getting the football pool together, bar dice, and taking to everyone except the red head waiting to place an order is more important than serving customers. When in customer service one should make customers feel welcome but that’s just my opinion. Yep and it took just as long to cash out & get outta there as it did to order & get my drink. Don’t worry I won’t be going back… Promise

We meet friends to have a late lunch and the restaurant only had a couple of customers. The service was very slow. I had the potato soup which was lukewarm at best. I ended up eating it as the waitress didn’t check back with us. We were never asked if we wanted refills of our beverages. Our group was not impressed with any of our meals. The pricing of the food was expensive especially for what we received.
I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Went here at 6pm on a Saturday night. Place was almost empty. Should have been the first sign to run. Took 25 minutes to get our drinks. An hour and a half to get our food if that’s what you want to call it. Prime rib was a fried piece of steak and not good at all. Could go on and on for the rest of our group but not enough space to type. WILL NEVER GO AGAIN.

Tailgators is located in the same spot a lot of restaurants have been before they closed up shop (Kilarney’s, fourth base, etc.). However, they seem to have been established for awhile and I have gone back multiple times. It is by no means my favorite place to go to, but it is almost never super busy which makes for a nice dinner with family or friends. The waitress we had was VERY nice and attentive (I will say she was the only employee waitressing AND bartending so she was doing a lot, yet I never felt as though we had to wait for anything so she was doing a great job). The food was good quality and portion size. Overall, good place to try out if you haven’t already.

Since new ownership, food went down hill. Normally there’s a large crowd from the businesses that have night employees. Dead. The bartenders who used to be so warm and welcoming are gone. There’s fruit flies EVERYWHERE. and the owner used a bug zapper… unsanitary…. nice dude… but sorry man… sanitation and good bartenders matter. You have quad right there. Take advantage.

My wife stood at the bar for 11 minutes, and was passed by 2 bartenders, several times. Not once was she acknowledged. One bartender was back and forth on a phone, and the other stood in front of her to pour a pitcher of beer, and still did not even say hi, or I’ll be right with you. What a joke. We decided to spend our money elsewhere and went to the Thirsty Duck (with our group of 4 and our bill of over $100), where we have had awesome service at this point. Remember, money comes in all shapes and sizes. How you treat your customers, reflects on your business. We won’t be back. And that’s a shame. We just came back to Sussex after 10 years away, and this used to be our favorite place. Unfortunately, time changes many things, and your customer service in a SERVICE INDUSTRY is horrible. If could give 0 stars, I would.
