I commend this establishment. While a typical sports bar, the food quality today was exceptional. My deep-fried mushrooms, onion rings, and chili cheese hot dog were superb; arguably the best hot dog and chili I have ever tasted. My server, Lisa, provided outstanding service and crafted an excellent Mai Tai. #amazballs

Entering is not welcoming. If you do not go straight to the bar you will most likely not be acknowledged for several minutes. That’s very disturbing as its a tight restaurant with zero spacing. Heavily caters to people who are buying drinks as the bartender was the server. My to-go order went from a 10-15 minute wait to 30 minute wait with very few customers. Just be honest on time or dont say it.. The food was better than normal bar food, so the wait did compensate.

Tailgaters is a great spot for a couple beers with the boys. The potato wedges were really good but the tenders were not so good. I would always return to Tailgaters as like I said it’s a great spot for a beer but I don’t want people to get their expectations too high when it comes to the food. The staff are also really really good.

On Labor Day, we stopped by Tailgaters with our kids to grab a bite to eat. We’ve been a few times before when we lived in the area and were craving some wings. It wasn’t very busy, but the service took longer than expected, though we weren’t in a rush. My husband ordered a drink, and the waitress brought two, even though we only asked for one. We decided to keep the extra drink, no big deal.
When we got the bill, we were surprised to see a 20% gratuity already added. This confused us, as it was just the two of us and our two small children, but we went ahead and paid. What really upset us was that days later, when checking our credit card, we noticed an extra $25 charge on top of the gratuity. We hadn’t added that to the receipt.
We called Tailgaters to explain, and they confirmed that a gratuity shouldn’t have been added since our party was less than six. However, we’re still waiting for an explanation or resolution. We’ve called the restaurant repeatedly over three days, but management hasn’t responded, and on several occasions, they’ve even hung up on us.
This situation could have been easily resolved with a phone call explaining what happened and assuring us it won’t happen to other families. Instead, we’ve had to dispute the charge with our bank and are left feeling frustrated and ignored.

Our waitress Abby rocks and the burgers are delicious! This sports bar is not as new and fancy but the food and service is good. I like this Tailgaters location better than the new one located near Aubrey/Little Elm on 423.
