Sushi here is top notch blows places like Akita out of the water. Reasonably priced with some of the best nigiri in the Midwest. People come from all over the state for this little restaurant while I get to go down the road. If ever near the Mounds View area, come check this place out!

I’ve had several wonderful meals at Taiko Sushi, but unfortunately my last visit has caused me to drop it down to 1 star. I visited with my young daughter after catching a movie. It was pretty quiet, with 3 other tables occupied, 2 of which were already eating. It took a couple of minutes for someone to seat us. Our order was modest – seaweed salad, miso soup and 2 rolls for me, plain rice and edamame for my daughter. The water came quickly, but then our wait began. My daughter finally got some rice after roughly 25 minutes. My miso soup came about 5 minutes after, followed by my seaweed salad. My first sushi roll arrived approximately 40 minutes after ordering and was the wrong order and sent back. After 50 minutes I received one of the 2 rolls I actually ordered and enquired about my daughters edamame. At 1 hour, the edamame finally arrived, but by that point my daughter was done and, frankly, so was I. I requested they box the food up, settled up quickly, received a brief apology from the waitress for our wait and got out of there. The salt in the wound was that when I finally ate my sushi at home, the salmon still had a fish bone in it. Aside from that, the sushi was decent, but not as good as it used to be. Unfortunately, Taiko Sushi lost a customer today.

Best sushi in town. The specialty rolls are tops and so affordable. It shares restaurant space and is only open over lunch and dinner. Enjoy how awesome everything is.
