The Yakitori Don Combination is delicious and consistently good! The house salad dressing is so good my family and I purchase a bottle of it every time we come. The service is fast and great, I have never had a bad experience here. 10/10 recommend

I hate to write a review for this restaurant because it’s the best kept secret on the westside and I’m afraid the word will get out and I’ll lose my little slice of Japanese food heaven. I’ve been going to Taiko for well over 20 years and the quality of food, cozy atmosphere and exceptional service has always been fantastic and keeps getting better. The garlic edamame is a must starter and the pumpkin tempura roll is addictive. The broth in the hot Kake bowls has always been perfect and the Udon and Soba are always fresh. They only have 4 or 5 small tables outside but they always go the extra mile to make sure there is a heater nearby on a chilly night. If you decide to get take-out you won’t be disappointed as every single item is wrapped with care and portions are equal to eating in. When I got Covid one winter this was the only take-out I could stomach and it made my heart sing. Service is always above and beyond.

They just raised their prices (2025) but still competitive. ENJOY!

We had a very memorable experience at Taiko! The sushi was excellent, as were many of the other dishes we tried. The service exceeded our expectations. They offer Kenzo wine which was a surprise and a treat having visited Kenzo winery in Napa. We’ll be back for sure! We highly recommend.

My new fav sushi spot in Brentwood! The spicy tuna crispy rice is so good and their miso soup has so much flavor. The best roll is the fire crunch, I highly reccomend you come and try!

I forgot to take the photos of the curry chicken katsu and special combo that has unagi don and hot soba. They were good, but not great. I thought the curry was the curry you can buy at the Asian grocery store, SB brand. The chicken katsu was normal, fried with the tempura batter. The unagi over the rice was usual, just an eel with a sweet sauce smothered under. The soba was probably the best because the soup base was not too salty, like in most other places. I could actually taste the flavor of the stock. The dining room was clean. But the servers were talking loudly in Japanese, which I thought was a bit odd in a Japanese restaurant. They normally whisper when customers are eating. The restaurant is located on the third floor. There is no validated parking. This place is just average for me.
