Absolutely loved it here. We really splurged but the whole experience and attention to detail was worth it. From the silverware, to the plates, to the tablecloths, and the decorations, everything adds to the experience and everything is thought through. I’d highly recommend the pickled veggie starter and the tea set with candies and homemade jam. Overall a really great experience and the service was amazing.

This place makes you feel like you’re sitting in your grandmother’s kitchen. Excellent ambiance, and the doilies on the table were very nostalgic! The cocktails are expertly crafted. The food was incredible- we had the dumplings and the salmon potato cakes. I didn’t have any expectations, but they were vastly exceeded. The entire dining experience is really something special.

Lovely and cosy Russian restaurant. Friendly staff. We ordered the Siberian dumpling and lobster goat cheese pancakes – both are absolutely delicious and worth trying it.

Taiga may just be the best restaurant we’ve ever been to.

Coming in you feel like you’ve just walked into a snug, secret little hideaway in 19th century Czarist Russia. The ambience is very cozy, lots of dark wood, red lighting, inviting bar, posters on the walls both of historic figures and glamour shots from the professional work of the fashion photographer turned chef. Only about 10 tables in two rooms. It’s enchanting, a little mysterious, and just draws you in and makes you want to spend hours there.

The staff couldn’t be more warm, friendly, or attentive. We felt like family being welcomed home to dinner.

The menu is both exotic but also as appealing as comfort food. An appetizer of blini (thin pancakes) with salmon caviar and smoked salmon could make a light meal in itself, served with sour cream and dill. The blini were perfect, thin, soft but with a touch of chewiness, a very hard combination to achieve in something paper-thin. The salmon caviar was fresh and delicious.

Borscht (traditional beet soup) was full of yummy vegetables, savory, filling, with a dollop of sour cream and dill on top. It was served with absolutely amazing dark bread, heavy, dense, full of flavor, and traditional Russian smoked bacon on the side. It was wonderful, the best we’ve ever had. The borscht and sides are a meal in itself.

Several of the main courses were variations of pelmeni, dumplings similar to tortellini. We enjoyed a special that evening, filled with salmon, topped with salmon caviar. It was fabulous! A dish of half dozen of them was more than enough to share and left us feeling too full for dessert.

The taiga tea is not to be missed. It’s an herbal infusion, the menu described it as having 30 ingredients and we believed it. Apples, cranberries, pomegranate seeds, mint leaves, rosemary, spruce tips, and about two dozen other fruits, berries, and herbs. It tasted like a ‘forest’ tea, an infusion of everything delicious that grows wild in Siberia and more.

We wish we had room to sample some of the desserts, like ‘bird’s milk’ cake, or syriniki farmer’s cheese pancakes with berries, but we were just too full!

It was a fabulous experience. It felt homey and comfortable, as well as exotic and captivating at the same time. Especially on a cold and rainy night, we felt transported to someplace glamorous. Taiga is unlike almost any restaurant you’re likely to encounter, the atmosphere, the waitstaff, and the food. It’s exciting but also relaxing and comforting at the same time. It truly is an ‘experience’ and not just a meal.

A big thank you to our waitperson Olga for welcoming us so warmly, and for making it a very special evening we will never forget. We’re going to make a point of returning as often as possible.

A very unique experience. So glad we went. Bring your appetite and curiosity. The starter salad was extremely generous with such interesting flavours. A mix of beets, arugula, pears, tomato, pine nuts, feta, truly I don’t know every ingredient but it was so vibrant and different from normal restaurant faire. We had the fish which was our served with peaches and blueberries. We were so full we were going to skip dessert and tea but so glad we didn’t. Every aspect of the food is a departure from usual restaurants (in a good way) and the service was also amazing. I was surprised to read some of the negative reviews. Bc they were out of caviar and bc we enjoyed the experience so much we made a reservation for Friday breakfast to try more options before we leave to head back home. Thanks to the staff for a really fun, special experience.

Such a beautiful place with tasteful decorations such as local herbs from Catskills. Food was delicious! I especially enjoyed the appetizer Russian pancake with salmon. My main was fish roll, which tastes amazing with blackberry jus and mushrooms. The signature dumplings took about 40 minutes to make but the kitchen was able to accommodate the mains to come out at a good pace. Not to mention that cute corner at the back room curated for their lifestyle brand Sirko Retreat. I got the black currant roll-on perfume, very natural and refreshing scent. Quite a magical experience ✨Will definitely come back for their afternoon tea

A truly wonderful place with such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. You can feel the kindness of the staff from the moment you walk in — the team is attentive, friendly, and genuinely cares about their guests.
The food is absolutely delicious, full of flavor and made with heart. Everything tastes fresh, comforting, and thoughtfully prepared.
Highly recommend trying the RUSSIAN borscht — it’s rich, perfectly balanced, and tastes just like real homemade comfort food. Honestly, it alone is worth coming back for.
A place I’ll gladly return to and recommend to anyone looking for great food and a great vibe.

TAIGA is one of those rare places that truly brings me back to my childhood and to the warm, intimate memories of home.

From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere wraps around you candlelight , crystal chandeliers, vintage walls, that quiet, intelligent elegance you almost never find anymore. It feels like a living memory, not a themed restaurant.

But the real magic is in the food. The flavors are deeply authentic, honest, and emotional. These are not “Russian-inspired” dishes made for effect — this is real cuisine with soul. Every bite feels familiar and surprising at the same time, like rediscovering something you once loved and forgot. The recipes are unique, refined, and impossible to replicate elsewhere.

TAIGA doesn’t just serve food — it revives feelings, culture, and a sense of belonging. For anyone who misses depth, history, and meaning in dining, this place is unforgettable.
