This is such a hidden gem! It overlooks a beautiful scenery of trees and ocean. Sunset hour was so beautiful. Kevin is the host, server and chef all in one- he’s the sweetest most personable man ever! The environment is so cozy and there was even a pianist playing. YOU HAVE TO get the blackened mahi tacos! I have had many fish tacos in my life and these are on the top of my list. If you’re in the area please give this spot a try, 12/10!

If you are looking for a unique and special dining experience with farm fresh food, live music, and great views then this is the place to go!

This is not your conventional restaurant, it’s a single open air building on a farm run by a man named Kevin who does all the cooking and service! We got the daily special (salad, entree and dessert for $35) of ahi tuna with wasabi aioli and it was AMAZING!! Dessert (Basque cheesecake with lilikoi sauce) was incredible too.

The live music from Tommy Pasami was amazing and really solidified the vibes here.

Feel free to bring your own bottle of wine or other alcohol because only alcohol-free drinks are sold here. If it’s a busy night, be prepared to be a little patient waiting for the food but it’s well worth it. 100% my favorite dining experience on any Hawaiian island I’ve been to so far!

We accidentally stumbled upon this place on our drive from Kona to Kilauea. We turned into Tai Shan farms to a locked gate. It wasn’t until the opening time that a man came to open the gate. We quickly discovered that that man is also the host. And the chef. And the server… Kevin is the man! A one-man show.

We grabbed a table next to the fire and had a romantic meal overlooking the farm while listening to Elizabeth Curry, the musician, play lovely tunes on the piano. The food is all local and fresh, and most importantly, totally gluten free. The grass-fed beef was perfectly juicy and paired well with Kevin’s homemade bbq sauce. His fries are some of the best we ever had. I told Kevin I’d never had passion fruit before. He walked away, plucked it right off the tree, and served me fresh passion fruit. You must save some space for his dessert. We had the panna cotta, basque cheesecake, and a mango pistachio bar – all of which provided a refreshing ending to a lovely meal. $50 for 2 entrees, 1 side, and 3 desserts was a steal. Don’t skip out on this hidden gem!

This is a one-man show. Kevin does it all… takes orders, cooks delicious meals, serves, cleans up, and is the cashier. His wife is the pastry chef and makes the best Creme Brulee I’ve ever had. Don’t expect a quick bite and run. It takes quite awhile to get through the few tables of customers and their orders before you get served. Reservations required on Wednesday dinners. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of this quaint little restaurant, watching Kevin cook, beautiful views, accent lighting, and the low chatter of happy diners. Parking for disabled is okay, but it’s alittle uneven ground. It’s definitely worth the visit and enjoy a good meal.

Unbelievable vibes and one of the best meals I’ve had in ages. Certainly the best we’ve had on the island. Don’t miss. Also, everything is gluten free. It was almost all super sweet locals except for one couple who had literally flown from Oahu to eat there.

Best farm to table in Hawai’i! Definitely THE place to stop for local food. The chef grows a lot of the ingredients on site, and everything is amazing. Meat-forward but also fantastic veggies and vegetarian dishes.

This is slow food, which means it takes time. It’s one guy doing EVERYTHING. If that doesn’t work for you, eat somewhere else – he makes it SUPER clear on his website that its just him and it WILL TAKE TIME! The locals know this and bring a bottle of wine and just enjoy a glass or two ntil their table is ready… then another glass or two while the food is made.

The atmosphere is great, the views are great, and the friendly locals took the time to stop at our table and say hi. That doesn’t happen everywhere – and that’s cuz its SLOW.

My wife is celiac so she was able to have fried food at a restaurant, which is a huge treat. Thank you Kevin!!!!

PS Be kind, pay cash.

We just finished eating here and I had to immediately write a review because it was such a wonderful experience! Everything we ate was flavorful and delicious, the owner and chef of the farm (who is Celiac, so the whole thing is gluten free and safe) was so kind and wonderful to talk to, as was the waitress/hostess. Our 4 year old son loved meeting the bunnies and donkeys on the farm as well. This is definitely a must stop by for a local, fresh meal!

Stumbling upon this place was the highlight of our island adventure! It was nearing dinner time, and as we searched for a spot to grab a bite, we found this gem on Google. What a lucky find!
Everything on the menu is gluten-free, which was a delightful surprise. The owner and chef, Kevin, greeted us warmly and shared that he crafts every dish gluten-free. For someone who eats gluten-free, this was music to my ears!
We ordered burgers, and they were nothing short of amazing. Juicy, flavorful, and perfectly paired with fries that hit the spot. Additionally, we couldn’t resist taking some baked goods for dessert—a brownie and a chocolate chip macadamia nut cookie. Both were heavenly and the perfect sweet ending to our meal.
Kevin’s dedication to his craft shines through in every bite, and his personal touch adds a unique charm to the dining experience. We’re already planning our next visit! If you’re on the island, this is an absolute must-visit for gluten-free food lovers.

Gourmet experience. Very clean in a rustic environment. Park off the road or you will get fined. Book in advance. Only caters to smaller parties as there is only one person (the chef) The food is the best and all local.
