Stopped in on a whim because it’s near the laundromat and I needed rice. I parked by the urgent care. Went in and ordered large rice and fried dumplings. He told me it’d be ten minutes. I sat and waited. Others came in and ordered, and it seems ten minutes is the standard time they tell everyone, lol. Anyway, it was a bit more than 10 mins wait. But still decent. The interior is lacking. There’s a place to sit and eat if you want. Nothing inviting though. The staff was busy, so no conversation, but nothing negative to say. I would definitely come back and try something else, I’m just still a bit hesitant with Chinese restaurants.

Their food is very good usually. I thought I found the best Chinese place in bpt. But they messed up big time this time. Not only was the order wrong, but the food was nasty. The egg rolls were old and dry. And a worm was food in my chicken. So if you order here, make sure you inspect the food.

My first time visiting this place and was not impressed at all, I ordered the garlic chicken combo (one of my favorites) but this garlic chicken was too salty the name should be change to salty chicken. The rice lacks the flavor of the rice prepared in Puerto Rico, it was missing a few ingredients like green onions and lettuce and it almost had no pork or ham. The French fries were pretty good.
I would visit again and give it another try, maybe the cook had a bad day who knows. One change I would make I would take the Puerto part of the name out because it’s just like any other Chinese restaurant around Connecticut not like the ones I visited in Puerto Rico.

Been coming here over 25 years and was here last year when I visited. Seriously the BEST Chinese food in Connecticut and I will argue! Forget that one star review, she was having a bad day, but if you want great food this is your spot. It’s been consistent for over 20 years, the only store on the block still here, great food, service, and that’s really all you need to know. Wait…prices are good too. Enjoy!
