We had a disappointing experience at Taha Mexican Restaurant on the Plaza. When we arrived right at opening (11am), we asked for a table for two and were immediately told there was nothing available—even though the dining room was completely empty and we were the first guests there. After the host “checked,” he suddenly found a table and seated us, but his attitude felt dismissive and unwelcoming from the start.

We began with chips and salsa, which were actually very good. We also ordered two café de olla lattes along with chilaquiles and the chorizo Benedict. Our drinks never arrived, and when our food was brought out, our server Santiago noticed and went to check. I asked him to cancel one latte and just bring the other, but it still took another 10 minutes to arrive. When it finally did, the cup was chipped, making it unsafe to drink from.

The food itself was underwhelming—the eggs on the Benedict were overcooked instead of runny as they should be. On top of that, Santiago only checked on us once, and that was just to drop off the check.

Overall, the service felt inattentive and the experience didn’t match expectations. We left unsatisfied and likely won’t be returning.

This is a nice upscale Mexican restaurant. It does get busy most times, make sure you get a reservation for a smooth seatting. The bar has an extensive list of liqour, wine and beer for any taste. There is a valet available and seating outside.

I have been a few times in the past few months. The hosts and hostesses are consistently warm and accommodating. Our servers have been hit or miss. Either exceptional or average. (I would not let this deter you). The fajitas (steak) are amazing; easily two portions. The food is worth the price. The margaritas are always consistent. Definitely make a reservation.

The food was the best!! My coworkers and I all enjoyed our meal.

Warning: the chips are addictively delicious! I think I ate my weight in chips. You get three different salsas. But, the guacamole and queso are worth ordering. I didn’t try the queso since I have a dairy allergy. But, it looked delicious.

I appreciate that there there is a symbol for items with gluten and I was able to order dairy free, as well. The Pastor (pork) tacos were perfect. You get 3 street tacos which is perfect after all the chips and salsa.

The atmosphere was inviting, with low lights and music and it is tastefully decorated for Christmas right now.

The server was friendly and helpful, but just wasn’t super attentive. I think he may have had many tables but that’s the o my reason I didn’t give 4 stars for service.

I would definitely come back!

The server said T’ähä had the best espresso martinis in the city. They weren’t kidding. It was smooth and the perfect balance of flavors.

But let’s get to the actual reason you’d eat here: The food is a wonderful, refreshing break from the usual TexMex flavors you’ll find in the city. Expect a prevalence of smoky tones and punchy spices.

They were very accommodating for our large group (approx 25) and served us with a little buffet.

The food was among the best we’ve tried in two weeks in KC. The staff was extremely friendly, and the place is spotless. Menu was very diverse and had great prices

When I told my wife that my brother-in-law and I were stopping for Mexican food on an errand-running Monday, she nearly dropped her coffee. I’m *not* a Mexican-food guy—borderline famous for it. But I’d spotted this place online, it was actually open on a Monday (a Plaza miracle), and it fit our route. So I took a gamble.

And wow. Jackpot.

I don’t quite know how to label the vibe. “Upscale” sounds snooty and doesn’t fit, but if your mental model of Mexican restaurants—like mine—leans toward cheerful dive-bar chic, this place is a whole different universe. Warm, polished, inviting… the kind of spot where you feel relaxed but also vaguely fancy.

The menu sealed the deal: three kinds of ceviche, bowls, tacos, burritos, chimichangas… even a Caesar salad for the gringos among us. Diversity on a plate.

And the food? Fresh. Bright. Flat-out delicious. I had the asada bowl; my brother-in-law bravely ordered a chimichanga *with a side of roasted vegetables* (yes, the irony was noticed and documented). Everything was a hit.

Thrilled we found this gem. Next time, we’re going back for margaritas—preferably outside, with Plaza people-watching as a side dish.

I had the best enchiladas ever today. I don’t say this lightly as I have had a lot of enchiladas over the years. We were visiting and decided we needed some chips and salsa and margs. Absolutely everything was done super, super well. From the three different salsas to the fish ceviche to the entrees. My fiancé had the fajitas and those were amazing as well. If we are in town again, we will revisit because not only was the food exceptional but so was the service.

It’s a pleasure to find a place with such a welcoming atmosphere. Traditional Mexican cuisine always delights the palate with its vibrant flavors. A well-prepared cocktail complements the culinary experience perfectly. Attentive and friendly service creates an even more special atmosphere. This type of restaurant is definitely quickly becoming my favorite Mexican restaurant. Highly recomended ♥️

Great place for drinks before heading to your real dinner. Make sure you order ahead if possible because wait times can take longer than usual. Would only come here if other places are booked up in the area. Otherwise a bean burrito from Taco Bell will satisfy you more.
