Taglio on 12th and Walnut Street in OTR has the best Detroit-style pizza in town. My favorite is the Bianco, the white pizza. The crust is a buttery cheesy focaccia-style. It is topped with EVVO, garlic, ricotta cheese, mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and basil. I’ve never found a pizza like this anywhere else. Taglio also serves NY-style pizza too. They offer house beers: Pizza Lager and Traveler IPA, among many others. Plus, their cocktails feature their JD Wayne bourbon! Taglio is a regular stop on Riverside Food Tours’ Cincy Brunch Tour and is always a favorite! Eric and the staff are friendly and professional.

This is my favorite pizza in Cincinnati. It beats Saint Francis, Trophy and all the others. Super friendly staff and a really nice atmosphere. I’m a big fan of their lunch special which is a small personal pizza, salad and a drink for $15. They have a New York style and Detroit style and they are both amazing.

Listen, the pizza is decent. It tasted good. Is it the best Detroit style pizza I’ve ever had? Not even close. The crust was unusually chewy. My jaw got fatigued eating it. However, it tasted like it was made with fresh and good quality ingredients. It just wasn’t memorable or worth it in the end.
The reason this gets knocked down for me is the price point. It’s ridiculously expensive. It’s legitimately the most expensive and small pizza I’ve ever had. I’m going to show my hand compared to the pizza’s size for reference & I wear an XS glove size. I got small pizza ($14). The ranch is delicious, even better with the spicy garlic sauce, but even those were $2 each for a small amount. It’s just not worth the price and I don’t see myself coming here again when there are much more budget friendly options that are just as good as this place. If you don’t care about price, the pizza tasted good. Worth a try.

It’s been a week and I’m still thinking about this pizza. Specifically the vegan cheese.
We had warm and inviting service, a beautiful glass of dry rose and large TVs at the bar to keep us entertained. I loved that this place is a mix of it all.
The Spicy Italian pizza was the favorite of the visit. We also tried the buffalo chicken which was crushed immediately.

So good! We were the first customers for early lunch. Every ordered individual pizzas; all different and all delicious. The wait was a little longer than usual bc the oven wasn’t ready – but they gave us mozzarella sticks to hold us over. These were probably the best breaded fried cheese I’ve ever had so I’m glad it happened tbh. I will continue to bring guests here, great atmosphere, friendly staff & 10/10 pizza.

Ordered a cheeseless Detroit style pizza well done (I like the crispy bits of bread and toppings). I’ve ordered some version of this several times over the last 4-5 years so I have a sense of what to expect. For the second time in the last 2 months, the pizza has an insane amount of raw dough under the sauce, like an amount that’s given me sulfur burps and bloating. It seems arguably not safe to eat? Maybe something has changed recently, I don’t know, but this used to be way less raw and aggressive to digest. And before someone says it, cheese on top would not help the pizza dough under the sauce get any more cooking. It just looks like the base of the pizza has had too little time in contact with a hot pan.

We had lunch at Taglio’s before a nearby Emory Theatre performance. Everything we ordered was very good and the service was incredible. The server guessed that we had tickets to a play, knew that we were cutting it close on time, and did a great job serving us quickly. In the middle of their busy day, they were hyper-focused on seeing that our day went well. As we finished, the server offered not just to box unfinished food, but to hold the boxes for us until after the play. How often do you see that?!? My only regret was that I failed to get the server’s name. Additionally, I noticed another server walking through the restaurant and changing TV sport channels as games would finish. This was just another sign of an expertly managed restaurant. Well done.
