I ordered a large oxtail plate with rice and peas. The oxtail were pretty big and soooo good, they were full of flavor and a little spice–just how i like it. They were so good, i went back the next day and ordered the same thing! The owner was also kind and attentive although she was a little busy handling other orders. I highly recommend!

I placed an order here and upon arriving, they said they couldn’t find my order. After 10 minutes of going back and forth, they suddenly found my order in the back. When I got home to eat, the food was honestly not good at all. I have never had a more drier chicken in my life. It was barely edible and chewy like a piece of rubber. It seemed like they slapped a lot of sauce on the top of the chicken and microwaved it. The cabbage tasted soggy and microwaved too. The rice was ok at best, it tasted kind of bland but otherwise ok. The plantains were the only decent part of this meal. Definitely won’t come here again or recommend the food to anyone. I should’ve listened to the low reviews.

My first time trying and I was not disappointed! I got oxtails, stewed chicken with rice & peas, cabbage and a beef patty. Food was delicious and the beef patty was slightly spicy, not too much. Thank you Kat for your amazing customer service!! Will be back

I ordered the Curry Goat with a side of fried chicken and it didn’t disappoint. The curry goat was tender that gave way to juicy, flavorful meat. For the generous portions and authentic flurs, the prices were very reasonable. The portion was more than enough for a hearty meal. Overall, this restaurant delivers a genuine taste of Jamaica in both its food and atmosphere. BEST

Very small oxtail portions. You get very tiny oxtails and your plate is piled up with rice. Not a good value.

When it came to the service it is amazing they can single handily take care of an abundance of people in a reasonable time. Understand though good food takes time so come patient and understanding. The food is off the scale with authentic flavor in every bite. sandy and her sister are so hospitable and even greeted me with open arms. I don’t know any spot on this side of Jersey or Jersey period that takes care of you with a smile like them.

I can appreciate great food and a great person behind the establishment as well. With many Jamaican food places around I still have yet to find a place that comes close to their food. Yes it gets busy sometimes and the wait maybe a little long but once you get the food you won’t be disappointed…. Remembering the old adages,.. “Good things come to those that wait!”

The young lady that greeted me from behind the counter was very friendly as soon as I walked in. Very kind. A woman came from the rear and greeted me as well, very nice and asked what I’d like to order. I made my choices: oxtails and the Barbie shrimp. I didn’t know what Barbie shrimp was and she explained it perfectly. Slightly barbecue sauce but spicy. She entered the meals into the system and the total was $60 . $60 for 2 meals.
I tried them out because I was going to my usual Caribbean restaurant which is right down the street from them but they were closed and a passerby raved about Tropics and said they were way better. While I do agree that the meat seems fresh, the rice was clumped up and dry. The plantain was also very dry and you only get one! The container should have been full as it was a large but neither were. It was not worth $60 at all. I also purchased two freshly made juices and they were delicious. That brought the bill to over $80. I waited 45 minutes for my food to come out which points to their freshness but just not ideal for takeout. The pictures were taken before we took a bite. We just added our forks. I’d go back for juice but not for the food.
