We started with the Pani Puri, which was fresh, flavorful, and a really fun way to kick off the meal. The Chicken Korma was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced, while the Lamb Biryani was aromatic with tender lamb and beautifully seasoned rice. And the Garlic Naan? Warm, fluffy, and absolutely addictive – perfect for scooping up every last bit of sauce.
The staff was friendly and attentive, and the overall experience made us want to come back immediately. If you’re looking for delicious, well-executed Indian food, Tadka Indian Cuisine is a must-try. We’ll definitely be returning!
All crews are very friendly.
Price is reasonable
Glad we got in earlier. So many people are waiting outside after us
I read about Tadka in an article in Honolulu magazine that really praised the restaurant and chef. They were not wrong.
Upon arriving around 5:30 on a Friday night my wife and I were seated immediately. The dining room is welcoming, comfortable and clean. The staff was very attentive and helpful describing dishes and spice levels. The menu was a delight to hold in my hand, as I am not a fan of QR code menus.
The service was overall excellent from seating to helping pack up some leftovers. The food came out hot and fresh.
The food was fresh, and light tasting. We started with the Pani Puri, which had a delicate and airy balance of spices that really got my taste buds going. We next had the samosa Chaat which was the best samosa I have had. Nice combination of spices and mint made for a juicy appetizer. My wife really enjoyed the tadka wings. The garlic naan was fresh and hot from the kitchen. For our mains we split the mixed vegetable curry and the lamb kabab. Which came with complimentary rice bowls. The portion size of the curry and kabab were large enough to spilt between us and quite filling for our main course. We had just enough room for the Kulfi ice cream desert which seemed to be infused with pistachio, my wife’s favorite.
Just a note on parking, we got a spot as we pulled in since someone was leaving, we saw a bunch of cars circling the lot, probably because they did not realize there’s an underground parking lot. You enter via Pumehana St. Next time if the lot is full, I will head to the underground stairs lot.
Thank you Tadka for the best Indian food experience I have had in 7 years in Oahu.
The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Indian dishes, catering to both vegetarians and meat lovers. I tried the chicken biryani, which was fragrant and flavorful. The garlic naan bread was soft and fresh, ideal for scooping up every delicious bite. And let not forget the lemon fried rice, the fresh and clean taste was indescribable.
What truly sets this restaurant apart is its attention to authenticity and quality. Each dish is a testament to the chef’s skill and passion for Indian cuisine. The service was exceptional, with the staff happy to make recommendations and explain the menu to newcomers.
Whether you’re new to Indian food or a seasoned fan, Tadka Indian Cuisine is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be returning to explore more of their incredible offerings! Highly recommended.
The yellow dal was the highlight for me — I added just a little salt, and it tasted exactly like my homemade South Indian dal. It instantly satisfied all my cravings from back home.
Other dishes were also very good, with mild, comforting flavors that felt fresh and well-balanced.
I even asked for three cups of white rice and finally got to enjoy my proper South Indian Papu Annam.
Thank you, Tadka, for such delicious and soulful food — it made my trip even better! Highly recommend for anyone missing authentic Indian flavors in Honolulu. ️
We ordered the pani puri, samosa chaat, butter chicken, Goan lamb curry, and the sizzling momos. Each dish was bursting with flavor, and the pani puri and samosa chaat were hands down the best we’ve had in Hawaii. Every bite was a delight!
Special shoutout to Veer, who made the evening even more memorable with his humor and dessert recommendation. His personality added such a fun and playful touch to our meal, and we truly appreciated the laughs and warm hospitality.
Mahalo, Tadka family, for an unforgettable dining experience. We can’t wait to come back!- much aloha from the Hawaiian Family!
Ordered the chicken biryani, chicken korma curry, and got the garlic cheese naan and mango lassi on the side. Food is made from scratch so took a little bit to come out. However when it did, it was piping hot and delicious! Naan complimented both the curry and the biryani.
Service was pretty decent but had to wait for water refills and other requests. However overall, environment was hospitable and everyone was kind.
Lots of parking available in the shopping center parking lot.
