Love the sushi here!! I got the beef udon here and they give a generous amount of beef. Broth was really good and noodles were the perfect texture. Appetizers were delicious as well, I liked the calamari the best!

I love the vegan food here, especially the tofu bowl and the vegan rolls. The flavors are amazing, and everything tastes fresh and well prepared. The environment is welcoming and comfortable. This was also the place where I had my first sushi—freshly made and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend, especially for vegan options. Being right in front of my department, this is always my go-to spot for food.

The food here is great but we had a served who picked who she is going to serve on time and who should wait longer regardless of arrival time. A difficult server made for a forgettable experience. The spicy tuna salad had a bit too much rice and we were surprised that tea pot was not available.

Tadashi is the real deal—bold flavors, beautifully plated dishes, and a lively, high-energy atmosphere. We went primetime Saturday night around 8PM and had to wait about 30 minutes. The place was packed, wall-to-wall, with a serious buzz in the air. Service was slightly slow but still efficient and friendly. If you’re looking for calm and quiet, this isn’t it. But if you want fire food and a vibe, this place hits.

Flaming Beef Roll
An absolute showpiece. Served still flaming, the thin slices of beef are seared on the outside and wrapped around a warm, creamy roll with avocado and tempura crunch.

Spicy Tuna & Salmon Roll with Tobiko
This one’s a stunner. Inside, spicy tuna and salmon bring the heat; outside, it’s topped with four kinds of tobiko that add color, texture, and just the right pop. Fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced—equal parts kick and finesse.

Cucumber with Sesame Sauce
Surprisingly addictive. Crisp spiral-cut cucumber in a sesame-soy blend with a hit of spice, sesame seeds, and seasoning. Cool, refreshing, and full of umami—makes a great palate cleanser or light bite between heavier dishes.

Spring Rolls
Crispy on the outside, hot and savory inside. The wrapper is fried just right—never greasy—and the sweet chili dipping sauce adds a sweet and tangy contrast that works every time. Classic and done well.

Salted Edamame
Classic, fresh, and exactly what you want. Lightly salted, steamed to keep that clean snap, and served warm. Perfect for nibbling while you wait or to reset your taste buds between dishes.

Fried Calamari
Hot, crispy, and packed with flavor. The batter’s seasoned just enough to bring out the peppery notes, and the squid inside is tender—not rubbery. One of the best versions of this dish I’ve had in a long time.

Tadashi is fire across the board. If you’re going on a weekend night, expect a wait and bring your outside voice. But for great sushi, solid portions, and standout flavors, it’s absolutely worth it. We’ll be back—next time, maybe on a quieter night.

I ordered mentaiko udon but got tobiko with a strong kimchi-cheese personality instead. As a mentaiko lover, I felt personally betrayed — wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic Japanese cuisine

Best sushi in State College! Sushi and appetizers were great everything tasted so fresh. Food came out quick as well. There was a slight issue waiting for the servers to place our order/check but other than that awesome place!

There are two Tadashi restaurants where one serves sushi (this location), while the other one caters more to rice dishes (don). We ended up trying both restaurants during our weekend visit to Penn State.

The portions were generous – we had the poke salad, poke roll, and Mentaiko udon. I didn’t expect much from the udon, but the flavor was spot on. Meanwhile, the roll and poke salad didn’t taste that special.

Zen decor and tons of seatings.

I walked it and Immediately I was greeted warmly and sat down without hesitation. My Server, Annie was patient, polite and took her time to understand my order and ensure I got what I wanted. The Chefs did an amazing on their food preparation and plating, and the flavor was astonishing and umami!

What’s most surprising was the price, Less than $35, when my budget was $60, that’s nearly half what I anticipated.

I’m happy and well fed, I enjoyed every second of my experience, well done! I will return for more. 本当にありがとう

Came here for my birthday lunch. I am a soft spoken Filapina. I ordered chicken buns and the waitress said one pork, one chicken. I never said pork. This was only the beginning. We ordered a rainbow roll, salmon tacos, beef short rib udon, tuna roll, an one other roll. Everything I said was wrong. Everything my friend said was right. My friend notified the lady that the pork udon that was delivered was not correct. There was no “customer is always right” she told me friend she said pork. She came to the table as asked “ it I wanted to change my order”. I cannot handle spice and my friend doesn’t eat pork. She also brought a mango roll instead of a rainbow roll. Since she chastised us so much about the udon we ate the cost of the mango roll and just added a rainbow roll. Rainbow rolls are my favorite and I make an attempt to try it everywhere I go. She treated us like we made the mistake. She also does not use paper to take the order. From the very beginning she was messing up our order. She did not apologize and treated us like we were changing the order after fact. Usually love this place. I guess I will bring paper and write my own order next time.
