This truck is tucked away in a gas station’s parking garage.
The tacos are to die for. They’re very flavorful and the side sauces add a good kick to the already amazing tacos.
I’d recommend their chicken & pork tacos.
The crown jewel of their menu is undoubtedly the al pastor torta, which introduced me to an unexpected but delightful twist – the addition of beans. The interplay of textures, combined with the traditional pineapple in the al pastor, creates a harmonious blend of sweet, savory, and creamy elements that elevate this sandwich to memorable heights. Their chicken quesadillas deserve special mention, striking the perfect balance between crispy exterior and melted, flavorful filling.
What sets this food truck apart is their attention to the details that many establishments overlook. The pickled vegetables, served in generous portions, add a bright, acidic counterpoint to their rich main dishes. Their taco selection maintains high quality across the board, and the burritos, are certainly worth exploring as well.
The establishment’s character shines through not just in their food but in their genuine hospitality. During one visit, when I found myself a dollar short while purchasing a Jarritos after my meal, they graciously accepted what I had – a small gesture that speaks volumes about their customer service philosophy. This kind of personal touch, increasingly rare in today’s dining landscape, helps foster a loyal customer base.
While the cash-only policy might require some planning ahead, it’s a minor inconvenience given the quality and value provided. Whether you’re craving authentic Mexican street food or seeking a reliable quick meal, Tacos y Tlayudas El Ejyteco delivers consistency, generosity, and flavor in every dish. It’s more than just a food truck – it’s a testament to the enduring appeal of well-executed, unpretentious cuisine.
This food truck is located within the parking lot of a local gas station at E Calaveras Blvd & S Park Victoria Dr. There was enough parking at the time I drove in. The guy who took my order greeted me in Spanish with a smile and acted very genuinely and cordially.
I ordered 2 lengua tacos. The portions were appropriate, and the meat was perfectly cooked and tasted both juicy and very, very, authentic. The onions and cilantro had been freshly diced and made me smile when I squeezed lime juice on both tacos. They gave me two small containers with their red and green salsas. Yes, their salsas immediately activated long-stored memories in my taste buds. I can say that it flew me back to Oaxaca. My whole mouth watered at the first bite, so to extend the feast in my mouth and soul, I made 4 tacos with the double tortillas.
I will be coming back with friends and family and I think you should too.
It’s a food truck. Seating is a folding table.
Edit: tripa burrito was pretty good too; comes with crunchy fried bits. A bit on the rich side; perfect with salsa.
