Brighton’s Best-Kept Secret: Authentic Mexican You Need to Try
We had to go see for ourselves after hearing all the buzz about this place in Brighton, and wow, it lived up to the hype. This spot is a genuine local favorite, and it’s easy to see why. We went all in, ordering a bunch of their stuff, and everything was fantastic. We started with the tacos de deshebrada and the picadillo, both of which were delicious, but the alambre vaquero was on another level. The mix of skirt steak, beef ribs, and tripitas was just a dream come true for taco lovers.
We were also lucky enough to catch their special: a torta especial. It was loaded with carnitas, ham, and cheese, piled high with all the fixings—seriously one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. We also tried the chile Colorado, and it tasted like a true family recipe from Chihuahua—so rich and comforting. On top of that, they’ve just started doing aguachiles and ceviches. The aguachiles especially blew us away; they’re so good they could easily be the best in the state.
To wash it all down, we got their micheladas, and what makes them unique is the topping: their house-made beef jerky. You can tell it’s made with care, adding this amazing, smoky flavor that just takes the whole drink to a new level. And you can’t leave without trying one of their aguas frescas. They’re made fresh every day, with a new flavor each week to keep things interesting.
Seriously, this place is a must-visit if you’re ever in Brighton, Colorado. You won’t be disappointed!

We literally waited 1hr 20min for our food. There was only one couple there and 2 guys at the bar no reason this should have took this long. We got our appetizer after 40min which was the tacos chavitos literally just a mini taco with beans so it should have been something super simple quick and easy also presentation was crazy. The alambre vaquero is what took the longest. We ended up just taking it to go. It was more of a bar style place. They didn’t have really anything. My son wanted a torta the waitress said they hadn’t received there bread yet. We asked for aguachiles they didn’t have that either. We wanted the papa tacos the cook came out to us and let us know they didn’t have potatoes ready yet. Very disappointed and it was so expensive.

This is my family’s go to spot in the area and i get to tag along every time I’m in town. The owners are always so lovely and the food never disappoints. Green chili on the burrito is a must, it has great flavor and hits the spice level perfectly.

Truly an amazing meal ans drinks at this place. Family owned and the food tastes as if you were in the most legit Mexican Restaurant in Mexico. A previous review said it is a hidden gem in Brighton CO and I have to 100% agree.

The salsa and guac was fresh, the queso fundido con chorizo amazing, the tripa, arrachera and quesa birria tacos delectable, the smothered burrito wholesome and the churros and pay de queso a great wat to wrap it up.

This has to be a go to place for amazing Mexican food from the region of Chihuahua.

Wonderful family owned business. Coronas always so cold and delicious. Molcajete is awesome and I always share with my son. Best times are karaoke nights!

I was reading somewhere it was the best kept secret in Brighton. I’m gonna have to agree with that. Totally didn’t expect the inside to be as large and even with a little sit up bar. The sign outside and the sign inside and the menus don’t match, so make sure you’re looking at the menu when you’re ordering and not picking a number off of the sign as you come in the back side. Because it will be something completely different. I had a piña colada it was pretty good pork tacos were also very good. The steak and onion jalapeño tacos I was told was also at the top. So give it a try they are really really good. It is all strictly Mexican food and definitely worth trying out.

Food was delicious 10/10 for me, I can’t complain really on the taste, everything was pretty authentic. My only complaint would probably be the portion size, i felt like it could have been a better experience if the portion would have been a bit bigger. Other than that my husband and i loved the place, it was clean, nicely decorated and restrooms were squeaky clean as well. We’ll be back for sure!

TLDR: Amazing authentic food, but poor service.

The best/most authentic Mexican food I have had. I got the barbacoa burrito, tostada, and cauldo(soup). For an appetizer I had fideo and tacos de papa(potato tacos). All the food was delicious and had that homemade taste and feeling. The only thing holding this place back was the service. When we came it was a bit busy at first, so having a longer wait time/getting our order taken is understnadle. It was after about half the restaurant was empty and there was only the people at the bar that it got frustrating. It was almost as if the waiters did not want to check up on us. For refills or to order some more food.

We accidentally arrived on a Friday night where they blast accordion music at 900db for the all night Karaoke.

While I could normally deal with it, the volume is so loud you could not talk and the speaker would crack.

That was just the beginning, I ordered Birria Tacos and my wife ordered Alambre. A mistake in the kitchen led to the wrong Alambre being delivered, which was rough enough she wasn’t able to eat it. They did comp that, which was nice.

My Birria Tacos were soggy and without flavor.

I will say the lady who made the mistake and the waiter were both good folk.

But the accordions man…
