Amazing salsa and cheese dip for starters and we usually get their street tacos but today we were adventurous and tried something different. We were not disappointed!! Highly recommend this authentic Mexican restaurant!!!

I just realized they had a drive thru and went to get 3 carne asada tacos. I thought would be waiting for a while, but they were as timely as possible, about the same time as any other drive thru. The food was delicious and fresh as well. They even threw in an extra taco. The person taking my order was polite and friendly as well. With the price, expediency, and relatively healthier options for fast food in Stillwater, it will definitely be one of my “go to”s. Thanks for the food.

CAUTION: This review is an unnecessarily long, meandering narrative, littered with valid observations, intermingled with, innuendos, accusations, and ambiguities, held together with a framework of poor grammar, unconventional sentence structure and incorrectly used punctuation. Properly described, it simply an inessential opinion.
Tacos Los Primos is a 4-star typical Oklahoman Style Mexican restaurant ……that is all you need to know. Save your time …Scroll on to something else.
Or go get a beer from the refrigerator and here we go…..
Oklahoma is a fly over/drive through state, with only Oklahoman! Mexican food! Sorry, that is a fact and that is just the way it is. Ok well. There are the large chain restaurants scattered in the large cities, for folks that don’t like real Oklahoman Mexican food
Some outa staters have given this little restaurant, Tacos Los Primos, what I think, are unfair and harsh reviews. They say the food tastes like “Californian” Mexican food. I strongly disagree! And here is why…
First of all, and most importantly, it’s not like I don’t have experience eating Mexican food. I have eaten at one other Mexican restaurant, many years ago. I think it was called “Casa Bonita.” Oh, and one time I got a taco at “Jack in the Box!” But, have to say that I think the Mexican food at Tocos Los Primos, tastes like Delicious! Authentic! Oklahoman! Mexican food!!
There is more than just the menu and the “yellow cheese vs white cheese” argument that make this a legitimate Oklahoman Mexican restaurant. Let’s start with the restaurants structure itself. A repurposed failed Pizza Hut building, worn from time, with bathroom doors branded from the greasy black hand prints of all the hard-working individuals that come here for lunch, to get a good meal at a fair price. The air conditioner may or may not be working.
Other characteristics of a good Oklahoman Mexican restaurant. Food, drink, etc. Mexican bottled drinks are on display in an old store display cooler from the 80’s. You wonder who else has eaten from your chip bowl today? Is the salsa recycled? I hope they take credit cards!
But, back to the menu. Their menu is universal. What do I mean? Take one with you, put it in the glove box and at the next Oklahoman Mexican restaurant you dine at, take it in and use it. Other than the prices, I guarantee it will work. More proof Tacos Los Primos’ is a straight up Oklahoman Mexican Restaurant.
All this banter aside. This is a good Oklahoman Mexican Food restaurant. The service is fast and friendly. You feel welcomed. Seat yourself. Chips, good salsa and queso arrive promptly. Very good hotter salsa is available. The restaurant is staffed and conditioned to meet your needs if you are on a limited lunch hour. The air conditioner is working, the seating is comfortable and the chips and salsa are pristine. They have a great lunch menu. And they take credit cards.
Food wise. My wife had the taco salad. Good to average, but the beef could have used a little more seasoning, typical of an Oklahoman Mexican restaurant. I went with #14 Pollo Jalisco. Two this grilled chicken breasts, queso and a mound of chorizo, sides of refried beans, rice and a bonus of charro beans. I think the refried beans maybe were a mistake in the kitchen. Two servings of beans? But the refried were better than the charro beans. The Chorizo was the good, lots of flavor!

Great place, great good and great service. I’ve never had a bad experience. The food comes quickly and is always served hot and exactly as we asked. The salsa and the queso is the best in the area, in my opinion. I highly recommend.

Wasn’t a great experience. Food was bland, fajitas were very odd (4-5 large strips of chicken served with bell pepper and onion, with minimal seasoning), and the salsa was mediocre to below average.

The price was a little higher than the area average for a Mexican restaurant in Stillwater, and the service was somewhat slow. I will say that they seemed understaffed and they could’ve used another employee or two to help out.

Also an fyi, they are closing early at 8 pm for the time being, so don’t try for a late dinner.

The side of yellow queso was nice, but it wasn’t particularly great. I’d rather pay a few dollars for the standard queso blanco personally.

Overall I think there’s better in the area for the price, and I don’t think I’ll return. I did order just a burrito one time, and it was tasty, but very small for the price. About half the size of a chipotle burrito for slightly more expensive if I recall correctly.

This place is great our service was exceptional to say the least she was on point with everything and our little girl wasn’t feeling well she was thoughtful enough to ask how she was doing several times and even wishing she would get better soon. On top of everything the food was fast and delicious very reasonably priced. Can’t recommend this place enough.

I went to this restaurant around 8 pm Friday night. I asked for a menu to order my food to go. When placing my order I asked if they had sour cream sauce. She said yes.(in repeating my order she repeated sour cream sauce 3 times.) so I ordered 1 alacart cheese chimichunga with sour cream sauce and a #22 3 enchiladas one beef with red enchiladas sauce, one chicken and one cheese both with sour cream sauce and I asked if they had white queso and she said yes so I ordered one large white queso with chips. She said ready in 5mins. I go to my car wait and come back in with my debit card and this older lady met me as I was walking in and saw the card and shook her head no and said you get cash, I was a little surprised and kind of embarrassed and really wanted my food.. I said I have to find an ATM but I can get cash, she said ok and sat my food down. I had to go hunt down a ATM. Came back and paid it cost $30.54 which is very high considering the enchiladas dinner was priced at $11 something. I left get home. No white queso ( pic included of what I got ) no sour cream sauce but I found the white queso ( it was on my chimi and enchiladas in place of my sour cream sauce (pics included) the chimis cheese wasn’t even all melted but the whole thing was too chewy to eat. I am so disappointed, I have not found one mexican restaurant since palominos closed in this town that has edible sour cream sauce.i hate to give bad reviews but my food was slop and its a shame the money I wasted and I still have to find something to eat! Don’t waste your time, alarming to me is them adamantly requiring cash only, knowing I had to leave my food, get in my car, and find an ATM, to get the cash. I cant imagine why?

Our town has many Mexican restaurants, but this is our favorite by far. I love the chips, which are slightly different than most of the places in town. It is a hearty chip that scoops up plenty of salsa. Wait staff is generally attentive. Glasses are large enough that refills aren’t usually necessary.
