Tacos Lopez is one of best Mexican spots in Utah. Tijuana style tacos are the go to here, make sure you get the Al pastor 8.5/10. Asada is nothing special I’d say it is just okay maybe a 5.5/10. Chorizo is a bit overcooked but good flavor, I’d say 6/10. I did get the Al Pastor fries this last time and they were good but lacked enough meat. They only put a scoop on top which makes presentation look good but once you get through the top layer it is all fries leftover. Given the fries are $15 I’d hope they loaded it with more meat and cheese. Overall would stick with the Al pastor tacos as my go to here. I’d recommend trying this spot.

As someone who grew up in Mexico, I approach tacos in the United States with cautious optimism and a well-calibrated palate. Too often, “authentic” is a generous label. Here, it feels earned.
The al pastor is the standout: deeply marinated, beautifully seasoned, and balanced in that unmistakable way that evokes a proper taquería back home. There’s a savory depth with just enough brightness to keep each bite compelling. Paired with an agua de horchata that resists the all-too-common sugar overload, the experience feels thoughtfully executed. Yes, it’s sweet—as it should be—but mercifully not cloying. The cinnamon and rice notes come through cleanly, refreshing rather than overwhelming.
We also sampled the asada fries—a nod to borderland indulgence rather than Mexican tradition. They were enjoyable, generously topped and satisfying, but ultimately a detour. If you’re chasing authenticity, your attention is better directed toward the mulitas, tacos, and quesadillas—the heart of the menu and the kitchen’s true strength.
A detail that speaks volumes: the self-serve salsa bar. It mirrors what you’d find at home, complete with ample lime wedges. Not a token garnish, but enough to properly dress each taco. For those of us who believe tacos should glisten with citrus, this is no small gesture—it’s a sign of respect for tradition.
This is a place that understands the fundamentals. I’ll be back, gladly, to explore more of what they do best.

Some of the best tacos in the area! Love the fresh tortillas and the pastor meat. I haven’t been inside so I can’t say how the atmosphere is but the drive thru was great!

The food is good and I liked the overall flavor. The place is usually very busy, which says a lot about how popular it is, but that can also affect the attention to detail. During my visit, I asked for tacos with no salsa and no veggies because they were for my kids, but they came loaded with both. I wish they would pay more attention to special requests, especially when it’s for children. Hopefully, they improve that part, because the place has a lot of potential.

So good! Would recommend anything with Al pastor meat. The muleta has so much cheese!

We came here after a concert late at night because we were super hungry and this place was open. The seating area was really dirty and the condiments section was pretty empty. The tacos are almost $3 each and they’re pretty small tbh. The drinks are also expensive and you have to e to pay for a refill. In my personal opinion these tacos are overpriced. I paid $16 for 4 tacos and a drink. I didn’t get full and I’m a 5’3 and 135 pound girl. Not worth the price tbh. I won’t be going again.

On a recommendation of a friend, we finally tried Tacos Lopez. The food was good, particularly the tacos de lengua and pastor mulitas. Not worth the money items: horchata and asada fries.
I would go back and order $30 worth of lengua tacos, easily, to be honest.

Taco Lopez is fantastic! The food is authentic and easily some of the best Mexican I’ve had in the States. Everything’s packed with flavor, reasonably priced, and absolutely delicious. The asada quesadilla was awesome. Highly recommend!

Interesting place. Tacos aren’t bad, a lil on the small side for $3.20. I had higher hopes for the carne asada but it tastes just like beto’s. Carne asada fries aren’t bad tho.
