I came for lunch and was so in awe of individually hand painted booths. Take the time look around, you feel like you are in a gallery of Mexican history. I asked Grace for a recommendation and ordered a #1 Birria. Perfectly prepared, and moderately spicy, it was very filling. I also added a Birria Ramon, to go, for my sister. She loved it!!!
The family has a wonderful authentic restaurant concept, one meal at a time.

I’m so grateful to my boyfriend, Fernando, for introducing me to this place. The tortas are delectable and big enough to share with two people. If you like your torta bread served fried donut style, then you’ll love the torta here at Tacos El Pariente II.

As for the tres leches cake and the drinks, I definitely recommend getting those two if you’re craving for something sweet.

Because of my social anxiety and my lack of Español, I was nervous ordering so again, I’m thankful to Fernando Arellano for introducing me to more Hispanic street food.
谢谢!ありがとう!¡Gracias!

As for everyone else, please give this place a visit. It’s small, but I can assure you that your tastebuds will thank you for the introduction long term. ❤️

I knew it wasn’t gonna be like Mexican food I get where I live but the photos looked good and the reviews were awesome so I had to try. The birria is good, but not the wow factor everyone else said. The red salsa packs some heat so be careful if you’re sensitive to spice. Unfortunately, it took way too long to get our food in a slow day which didn’t help the situation.

I’ve visited Tacos El Pariente in Gaithersburg multiple times, and this place delivers every single time! Whether you’re craving their famous Birria Tacos with Consomé or classics like Carnitas, Chorizo, and Asada, the food is always on point. The flavors are authentic, the portions are generous, and the Jarritos are always cold – what more could you ask for?

The service is quick and friendly, making every visit smooth and enjoyable. If you’re a taco lover, this spot is a must. Can’t wait to come back again! Highly recommend.

I had an appointment nearby and stopped in here, what a great experience! The birria special #1 was delicious, super-tender pulled beef, two flavorful salsas and a hearty broth, plus the traditional onions, cilantro, cucumbers, radishes and pepper. The coffee came Mexican style with sugar and spices. Really friendly and helpful service too. I’ve lived in Mexico and this place took me back there

I used to go there often but I stop for a while I went back and food portion was poor I order the Carnitas platter and I even said to the lady wow it’s quite lite and she said I didn’t check I’m sorry and didn’t care to check. She was too busy with her daughter and the other employee to check I’m assuming. The platter was much juicier and more food also even the sides were more. I am definitely disappointed.

All serves in disposable plastic, flautas where chicken flautas had some sort of additional filler maybe cream? Felt like cheap quality corn and transfat oil. Esquite corn also tasted as it was frozen and then tawed. Jamaica tasted fake. Nonetheless the “birria pizza” seems like a clever marketing pitch. If I ever come back it would be to try that. Neighbor tables seems to love their “charola de birria” I guess it depends if you like “Mexican” food this is ok. If you dig “Autentica comida Mexicana” you may have to prepare from scratch at home or pay significantly more for higher quality ingredients, its always a trade off, given how far we are from lindo y querido.

They are definitely giving old rice in their combos. I got the two taco combo, the asada tacos had fat on the meat and the beans and rice where cold and the rice was old, will not ever return
