Best birris tacos in lancaster area…but I really come for the tres leches cake. The best tres leaches I’ve had. Very cost effective to eat here, defintly grab a slice of cake when you can they go fast.

Great food!!
You wouldn’t expect much walking into a Mexican restaurant in such a small town, but we were amazed to have found such gem.
Food was great from start to finish.
Service was polite, friendly and helpful.
Interior can improve, but we sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful day.

The quesabirria deservedly should get your attention, it was very good and borderline amazing (for PA). The right amount of onion, well cooked beef, cheese and consomme.
I was somewhat disappointed in the steak breakfast burrito. Not so much the flavor, it still tasted great, but it was not what I would consider steak or even carne asada, and was likely ground beef with some hints of shredded beef. I also wanted some sauce but didn’t see they had given it to me! My bad!

So my fiancé and I used to love this place
Def when they were a food truck
And then went when they started in their restaurant
They were awesome
But we just got them like two weeks ago
And it’s just not the same anymore
The quality definitely went down It’s just not the same at all. It was still Good, but not like it used to be

Tacos El Gordo recently opened a food truck location in Adamstown, PA! They brought food to the library employees, as well as coupons for a free chicken taco. The food was delicious, and the gentleman who brought it over was so kind. Absolutely will be visiting the food truck in the near future!!

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this place was honestly terrible. The tacos came out cold, and the “birria sauce” was this thick, nasty mess that tasted more like plain spicy salsa than actual consommé. The tacos themselves were completely bland — no flavor, barely any cheese, and zero freshness.
Everything was cold, poorly made, and just disappointing from start to finish.
Definitely would never eat here again.

Their food truck is fast, convenient, and delicious. And now they have gone even further and opened a permanent restaurant in Ephrata!

The Quesabirrias were amazing at Tacos el Gordo – Shredded Beef, Cheese, Cilantro and Onions with a Consume Dip. It’s a BYOB spot and just a few doors down from Pour Man’s Brewing Company in Ephrata. Great combo !! Staff was very welcoming and friendly.

Clean restaurant with good food. Everything tasted fresh and was brought out hot. Quick service. The waitress was helpful, and she is learning English. If you are unfamiliar with the food like we were, my husband found a picture on Google maps and ordered that way! That helped with the language barrier as well. We enjoyed our food and hope to come back!

The casaberrias are unbelievable. The consommé they are paired with is wholesome, savory and reminiscent of a French onion in its own winter warming ways.
