Unfortunately, this is not the spot if you’re looking for authentic barbacoa tacos. The tacos were not worth the $5 price — the tortillas kept ripping apart and made them hard to eat. The flavors did not feel authentic, and overall the quality did not match the cost. The drinks were also overpriced.

The women at the counter did not speak English so I asked another customer to order for me. I told that customer that I want 2 orders of Sopas, which are supposed to be 3 per order. That was not the case. I received 2 single Sopas. I was very disappointed when I received 2 instead of 6 for the price I paid.

Tacos El Flako isn’t a restaurant. It’s a small frutería located in a modest neighborhood. It reminded me of my Youth when I would visit my grandmother in Mexico. I did enjoy the food and especially the mangonada.

The store is not physically appealing but the torta de asada had good flavor, I’d skip the lengua. The miss here is seeing the old produce on its shelves and cooking spatula scraped on several surfaces besides just the griddle.

Do not order pick up or delivery from their website. I placed a pick up order and went to pick it up from the address that was on Google and it wasn’t there. Looked on the website and went to that address and it wasn’t there. Went to another address that was posted on their social media and yelp and it wasn’t there. Wasted 11$ on tacos and have to go through getting a new card and everything just to dispute this charge. Makes absolutely no sense why people can’t run their business right and keep the correct information updated.
