Sometimes they get backed up, but the food is ALWAYS WORTH IT. I literally take all my friends here and they’re always really happy with the tacos (and everything else).
Price is great and they’re open late!! Been coming for about 2 years now, and the taste and quality has never changed. They’re now located at the church parking lot. Some nights it’s hot, and some nights it’s cold. If you can’t vibe outdoors take it to go!

I’ve been to just about every authentic taco spot in the area & no one has been as consistently great as this one. Never have I been disappointed with the freshness, flavors, portions, and price. You know how some spots you go it’s really good the first time, you go again after hyping it up and it’s just, eh. Not here! My grown kids will take the households order & go pick it up all excited like it’s wagyu steak night at a Michelin star restaurant! It truly is a hidden gem, you’d drive right past if you didn’t know. Please keep this place in business & go check it out!

Is everything okay here ? I originally tried to order a steak torta but was told they only had milanesa. So I ordered: 2 tortas milanesa, and a steak taco. The rice was a day old as it was hard and flavorless. The chicken in the milanesa was so thin and stringy that I couldn’t eat it (see picture) This place having an off day?

I picked up here for doordash one time and the guy charged me $2.50 for tacos so I got four. It was 10 bucks. I come back 3 weeks later and all of a sudden it’s $4 a taco. I said that’s bullshit it was $2.50 3 weeks ago. Now all of the sudden it’s $4 a taco. They up charged me because I’m a white American. These people need to be shut down. I think I’m going to call ice and see if these people are legal here

Tacos El Costeno is a hidden gem. We tried it on our first night in Sarasota, based on all of the glowing reviews, and it did not disappoint. My husband had a steak taco and pork taco and my daughter had a chicken taco. The tacos came with cilantro, lime, onion, and slices of radishes. Based on one review I saw, I went for a gordita with chorizo, and it was amazing. The dough was freshly fried. The chorizo was so flavorful. I was in heaven. 1 gordita for dinner was plenty for me to feel full. The food was served with 2 sauces to add on–one green and one red and both were great. I liked that there were picnic tables to eat freshly cooked food that was brought out to us. My only gripe was that the tables are close to a road that has a decent amount of traffic going by, so it was a bit loud. But not a big deal overall. We will absolutely visit this place again during our time in Sarasota!

I saw the great ratings and thought I’d try this place out. The others are right, it was so fresh and delicious! I asked if they could make me vegetarian tacos, no meat, with just the beans, cheese and all the veggies, and they did. I got two tacos, it was five dollars and some change. I’ll probably get 3 next time for a full meal as they are on the smaller side. I highly recommend!!

Food truck, covered bench seating, real Mexican Music. NO FRILLS. Just absolutely amazing food. Had Al pastor, carnitas tacos and chicken burrito. Best in Sarasota HAND DOWN.
