Food is delicious. Everything is made to order and lunch time gets busy so it does take a while. But totally worth it!! Prices for meals are great too. Good portions and friendly service

First time visit. My wife and I had the Birra Queso tacos; corn tortillas. They were excellent. Great serving size. We highly recommend.

Their food is really good! It’s attached to a convenience store so you can walk over to grab items while waiting for your food. The quesadilla was really good and they have 3 different salsas to try! Definitely worth trying if looking for good and quick Mexican food

Oh man, this place is absolutely amazing! I recommend this restaurant to everyone! I got the quesabarillas. The rice and beans didn’t come with it but I ordered it on the side. The portions were big! My only suggestion is to put the rice and beans in a round paper container with a lid bc it shifts around in the styrofoam container and looks messy. Other than that, the food was so worth it! The food came out very quickly as well! I’ll be back when I’m in town next time!

Satisfied my craving for Birria! Delicious consume! My husband enjoyed his barbacoa chimichanga, he said the meat was perfect. We’ll likely stick with takeout as the seating area is small. Will definitely be ordering again soon! Give it a try y’all!

I was sad to see the former Las Tortugas in this location close down in favor of a different place. They were one of the only good taquerias in all of southern Colorado. But I wanted to get Tacos El Amigo a try, and I’m glad I did.
The dining room at Tacos El Amigo #3 is a vast improvement over the former Las Tortugas. It’s still in a gas station, but they have real furniture now – comfortable wooden booths and tables. It feels like an actual restaurant. I also love the jukebox playing appropriate music. From the looks alone, this is a real Mexican restaurant, and not the fake deep-fried-covered-in-gravy ambiance one normally finds in southern Colorado.
I’m surprised at the negative comments from others about the aqua fresca. Mine tasted really great. And I love the free refills.
The menu is decent. I will need to come back here several times to get a good sampling. ** Today’s review is therefore only preliminary. ** I’ll update once I try more food.
Today I had a torta pastor. And it was… decent. Not as good as Las Tortugas. But, somehow, a bit more approachable. If you don’t eat Mexican food that often and need a torta that feels more like a regular sandwich, you may find this pleasing. That describes a lot of folks around here, so I have to say it’s appropriate for the area. Still way better than most places in the region, but not quite as good as what was here before.
But, I gotta give this place an A+ for service presentation. My sandwich came with a blistered jalapeno on the side, and three kinds of sauces – without my having to ask. And it was all brought to me at my table, instead of me having to wait around the counter.
OVERALL: The service, ambiance, and presentation make this place somewhere between 4 and 5 stars. My torta was good, but not as good as I hoped for.
THIS IS A PRELIMINARY REVIEW. I can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.;

This place was delicious. Had the Pueblo burrito and I’m taking half of it home. It was big. I also had the pork taco and ground beef taco. They both were good. I definitely liked the pork better. because it’s in a gas station don’t mean it ain’t good. The salsa is good red and green. Both are hot but the red is hotter. It’s small but perfect. They are busy with pick-up orders we decided to eat in. And so far the best horchata I’ve had. And Pina was really good. Definitely will be back.

You know a taco place is going to be good when you realize it’s built into a gas station. We got rellenos, birria and fish tacos. Everything was delicious! This is my new favorite place, we will definitely be back!

My online order was made at 6:45, my food wasn’t ready until 7:30 ish.
Got the chicken burrito. More beans and rice than chicken. Probably an ounce of chicken in a one pound burrito. The chicken is few and far between and also very dry! Flavor isn’t good either.
I also ordered a asada burrito as well and it’s the exact same as the chicken burrito. The meat is spars, It’s very dry and the flavor isn’t good at all. I’ll never come back to any location of Las Tortugas.
Don’t listen to the good reviews, that’s what got me there. I will probably get food poisoning, my stomach is starting to bubble.
