The tacos were good and I really liked the toppings bar. However, the lady at the counter was extremely rude and dismissive. She wouldn’t look up from her terminal, didn’t greet us, no smile. We told her our order, and she still didn’t want to acknowledge us.

There was some spillage on the customer point of sale and my partner asked her for some napkins to clean it so we could pay. She pretended not to hear and then when we kept repeating, she grabbed some paper towels and aggressively reached over to wipe the screen.

Honestly, why put people who hate their jobs at the front counter? Wish I remembered her name but she was a bigger Hispanic lady with long hair, maybe close to 30. I wouldn’t patronize this restaurant again. There are dozens of other taco places in the same block that will make you feel welcome.

I came to Mill for the first time in 10 years and wound up in Tacos Calafia. I was planning on bar hopping but the Taco staff was so welcoming and the environment was so fun that I decided to stay. Huge shout out to TJ, Bailey, and Annabelle! I brought a friend here and it was a great night for everyone. Made a bunch of friends last night!

Come for the drinks, stay for the fun. Seriously underrated place. Absolutely amazing place to hang out.

I love that I can walk to this great, locally owned restaurant. The salsa bar offers lots of yummy toppings and I love that they also have roasted jalapenos by the pick up counter. My favorite are the carne asada tacos, but I think the al pastor deserves a mention because the marinade is sweet and tangy. My daughter got a nopales quesadilla, which was tasty as well. I forgot what kind of burrito my boyfriend ordered, vut everything was so good.

Best Tacos on Mill Ave. Hands Down! Enjoy their awesome food but make sure you don’t skip out on the immaculate vibes during the night. They got fun activities for you group like cornhole, giant connect 4, and (my personal favorite) pong! One of the most memorable things about my visit though was the service, TJ and Annabell made me and my group feel like friends and family, as they did with everyone else there. Great energy, very attentive, and just super fun. I can’t express just how much I’m grateful for the memorable experience, you have a customer for life!

A must go! Menu is simple but with plenty of variety. Food was excellent and the prices were insane. You get such a bang for you buck, especially during Taco Tuesday. They have a salad bar with all the fixings and their guacamole came out great. They also have family meals and just the meat itself to take back home, all of which comes with a good helping of sides. Overall, this place is an excellent taco spot that I highly recommend and will come back to.

If I could give Tacos Calafia a ZERO star review I would, on the simple principle that their customer service is appalling, I was not satisfied with my order and requested a refund for the food I did not eat and they flat out refused, telling me it’s my problem.

Aside from bottom of the barrel customer service, their food is exorbitantly expensive for the portion and quality you get. A small, barely filled “taco” is 2.99 EACH. The Mulita is basically a tiny greasy quesadilla for $5.99 (same size tortilla as the “taco”), Vampiro is pretty much a little meat on a tortilla chip for $5.49. I wish I was joking.

Additionally, what they don’t tell you is if you order online for carry out (even through their website directly) the prices are inflated compared to if you had called in the order over the phone or placed it in-person.

I was searching for some super yummy street tacos tonight but couldn’t remember or find any of the local pop up ones that set up in a parking lot typically. So I turned to TikTok in hopes to find a spot to try out for the first time. Came across Tacos Calafia and a lot of people seemed to recommend it, so I thought why not give it a try.

Little did I know what I was in for… once I picked up my order I was extremely disappointed in the portions and quality of what I had ordered. I was under the impression that for $40 I was ordering a meal for TWO. What I got was NOT THAT. I asked for my money back and they outright refused. They did not offer to make it right what so ever.

All in all if you’re looking for good tacos that aren’t a rip off, DO NOT GO HERE.

*photos are comparison of the items next to my small credit card only wallet* do not be fooled the tortillas barely took up the palm of my normal sized hand.

I typically write positive reviews unless something was just not right.

I was pretty much told that I should have noticed sooner that they shorted me the number of tacos I paid for. For starters, the cook was on the phone in the back and cleary miscounted the number of tacos in our order, while chatting it up. We go here fairly often and never have been shorted, so we grab our food and go. But when we got home we were short. Not a big deal… definitely not negative review worthy. So I head back with the receipt and the tacos (untouched) and was accused of ‘eating’ some of the order and then coming back because 25 minutes have passed. My order number was 26 and when I got back to the restaurant they were calling out order 30. It was maybe 15 mins for me to get home realize THEIR mistake and another 10-15 drive back over there. Sure, I could have unwrapped my order to count the tacos before I left. But they could also count the number of tacos in the paper plates before they tell me that my order is ready, implement some form of quality control or atleast have some accountability for the mistake instead of this defensive posturing. Why in the world would I get home eat 2 tacos and then drive back with 7 uneaten tacos to say that I am short 2 tacos. I appreciate that they remade the tacos but it was evident that she was upset that we interfered with her phone time because it was half grease and half carne asada. My initial order, although missing 2 tacos, didn’t have nearly as much grease. 2 stars, would be 1 but we have history so that counts for something I think.

Updated: definitely too much grease lol me and my pregnant wife feel like

Went to get food around 3ish on a Sunday during the tempe blooms. And there was no beans, no grilled onion or jalapeños. There was no onion and cilantro for the tacos. And the girl at the kitchen claimed they had already ran out, and didn’t have any more. They close at what ?? 9 pm and they weren’t worried about replenishing these taco needs!!
