Plenty of parking and a little tricky to get over from the North-bound lane on Rt 1
But this is a good place for authentic tacos and everything else associated with them.
Got a Carnitas and Chicken tacos. Also got some sweet plantains. Everything for $3 each.
The tacos here are very juicy and quite good. They were also on flour tortilla’s, which if you prefer corn, you can grab that “next door” at Callejero’s.
Solely on taco’s alone, they are better than Callejero’s minus the tortilla. I do like the Machete’s and other sandwiches at Callejero’s so this isn’t a dig at them. Both places are equally busy, so there is plenty of customers to go around to keep both in business.
You should go to both and do your own taste comparison!
I truly don’t understand what went wrong. I’ve eaten here before and the chicken tacos were great.
Be sure to make them aware you want flour tortillas otherwise you’ll end up with the thick corn ones!
I think I will pass on going back.
*EDIT: I had to speed home hoping no police in order to run to the toilet. I felt sick within 15 minutes of leaving that place and almost dropped one in my pants!
DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Came here with my wife because she said they had good tacos and I had not ate all day. NOT THE CASE. I ordered Al Pastor and she ordered carnitas.
After waiting almost 30 minutes for 6 tacos and watching another family come in 15 minutes after us and get served before us, we were finally served. They gave only two napkins and one slice of cucumber/radish with the meals. My wife’s tacos were bland and doused with oil. My Al pastor tacos were also dripping with orange oil and they were disgustingly overcooked. Only one taco had a soggy pineapple in it, the others were all meat. My wife asked for an exchange because the quality was UNACCEPTABLE FOR THE PRICE. To which they spoke disrespectfully about her request in front of her in Spanish. (She speaks and she told me what they said about her). I continued to eat mine because I hadn’t ate all day, but now I feel sick as I’m writing this wishing I hadn’t.
I never leave reviews but this place is dumpster-tier. Maybe the reason we waited so long for poor quality food was because we were waiting for them to finish overcooking my food. I feel like I’m about to puke. This was just not worth my money or time.
