Driving 4hrs from Great Sand Dunes NP and after checking into our hotel, we couldn’t have picked a better spot for dinner. I’d have to admit that we were skeptical about tacos in Montrose but this place blew our minds! The pastor and asada were great but the crispy tripas tacos were amazing! We’re stopping by again after our visit to Black Canyon of Gunn. NP! I we had this restaurant in Los Angeles.

We love to go out for tacos and love their food, but the servers are horrible, extra 10 minute wait for everything from taking orders to bringing drinks or food and especially for the payment. (except chips and salsa – those ladies rock!) servers text on the phone, leaning over and chilling by the counters while their tables are waiting to be served – and we watch them, cuz we are done eating and are waiting to pay and leave and have nothing better to do. Every time we come, we hope we don’t get stuck with one of those girls. Please get them in line, cuz we love your tacos!

I can tell you for sure the food is not worth dealing with the servers here. My God, truly the worst service I’ve ever had at any restaurant.

Great tacos, especially the Al pastor! The sauces at the sauce bar were watery and not very flavorful. Especially the creamy habanero, it is just hot without good flavor. But the red salsa was excellent and we really enjoyed it!

Maybe next time.
I had the combination plate and got the Cimie conga and ChieReano, and it was awesome. Especially the Chimi.
I will definitely be back and try the Tacos & Beer.

Tacos and Beers second location in Montrose offers the same menu as their Ox Bow Crossing location but doesn’t have the same atmosphere. Low dceilings and broken up rooms, it can get pretty loud and parking is a bit of a chore when it gets busy. The food is great though, same as always.

Good food with some taco protein options I do t see often. The main disappointment here was that they didn’t actually have a good beer selection. It was all mainly foreign owned macro beers and Mexican lagers. I didn’t see anything local.
