Great tacos without fanfare; well made and served with delicious sides. Service is great too, especially Tori, who took our order and drinks, had a big smile and friendly attitude, and checked in with us at all the right times. Atmosphere was cozy, warm, and quiet even though it was super busy. Definitely coming back again soon.

Well I really wanted to love this place, however after 2 attempts, I hate to have to leave bad reviews but this is it.
First off the food wasn’t bad, was it the best street tacos I’ve ever had, no not at all. Decent but not worth sitting through the horrible service…. That’s what really sucked. I’m at a Mexican style restaurant where they service spicy foods so please make sure my drink is not empty…. Of course she might have noticed that my empty glass was sitting for 15 minutes at the edge of the table if she wasn’t busy talking and flirting with a guy from the kitchen. Not busy…. Maybe 5 or 6 tables seated. Not at all impressed….I won’t be back.

I recently visited tacos and beer for the first time and had an incredible dining experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious—authentic Mexican flavors, fresh ingredients, and generous portions. The tacos were perfectly seasoned, the guacamole was fresh and creamy, and the house margarita hit the spot!
What really stood out, though, was the amazing service from our server, Tori. She was friendly, professional, and genuinely made us feel welcome. Tori took the time to explain the menu, offered fantastic suggestions, and made sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. Her warm personality and attention to detail truly elevated the entire experience.
This place is a gem, and Tori made it even better. I’ll definitely be back—and I’ll be asking for her again. Highly recommend!

Could anything else have gone wrong?
1. Served my wife what appeared to be pork instead of ground beef in her taco. She didn’t realize until after a few bites.
2. Didn’t turn down children’s show on tv directly over our heads that fought with the Muzak despite requests – and no children in the restaurant. Very distracting and uncomfortable.
3. Asked for no salt on margarita yet came with the rim heavily crusted
4. Didn’t get drinks or water for 15 minutes after being seated and never got refills.
5. Steak azteca had very little meat, and what was there was dry and chewy
6. Ordered extra flour tortillas which never showed.
7. Rice was cold
8. Asked to have the pork item removed from bill, which server agreed to, yet failed to do so. Had to have it removed after receiving the bill.
9. Asked for split check yet one bill arrived for both couples.
It used to be our go-to Mexican place, which is why we decided to give them a second chance after a horrible hair in the food issue on our last visit where they didn’t even replace the item. Server just stared as us like we had two heads, turned and walked away.
I am sympathetic that they were moderately busy. One or two issues wouldn’t be a big deal but not a single item was served correctly except my water…even that never got refilled. There are far more issues here than front of the house staffing. We won’t return.

We are locals who have seen this place on the corner for the last 4 years but have never gone in because the parking lot is always jam-packed. Which told us that it must be good. So we finally made it tonight and it is bar none the best Mexican restaurant in town and one of the best I’ve ever been to. The atmosphere is wonderful and fun and eclectic. The food is beyond belief! The service was superb. Special shout out to Ana. This is now our new favorite Montrose restaurant.

The food was really good. Birria tacos were savory and consomé was also good as well. The only downside is that the music is quite loud and sometimes hard to hear each other. Our waiter was really nice and went above and beyond to take care of us. I will be back

It is our favorite place in town. Great food. Cold drinks and the service team are always excellent. The Martin tacos are so good. Since the update to the place, it has become very busy. The service is still timely, and the food is always enjoyable.

BEST Mexican we’ve had in Colorado!
Husband ordered Birria Tacos Martin and I had the steak fajitas. Both were so flavorful and great proportions. Next time we’re in Montrose we’ll be back!!
