Tacos Apson in Tucson is a gem! The carne asada burrito was hands-down the best I’ve had in the city—perfectly seasoned, juicy, and packed with flavor. The beef tongue tacos were incredibly tender, probably the most tender I’ve ever tasted, and absolutely delicious. The salsa bar is a standout, offering an outstanding variety of fresh, flavorful salsas that elevate every bite. This place is a must-visit for authentic, top-notch Mexican food. Can’t wait to come back!

For the price and the reputation Sonoran hotdogs have, this felt lazy and misleading. If you’re going to sell a Sonoran dog, it should actually look like one — not a tiny sausage hiding in a full-size bun. One of them even had 2 small pieces. Very disappointing after being a long time patron of Apsons tacos. CHECK YOUR HOTDOGS!

Arrived just in time when I came here! This place is legit so no wonder it gets packed so fast!
I finally got the chance to stop by as it was on my list to try. I had heard several people recommend the place for their amazing choices in different meats all seasoned and cooked great. My husband’s order included to Apson taco. Must be the #1 item we would recommend to try when stopping here.
It’s a covered outdoor seating area and you get to grab your own toppings of choice.
Would come here again. It was all very delicious and the price is great for the quality and amount of food you get.

A friend of mine recommended this place to me and they did not disappoint. I had the HAAS tacos and they were phenomenal. They also have a Caribbean salsa as well as many other types of salsa in their salsa bar. The service was very fast and the food was delicious It’s got the vibe of a street corner taco stand

Oh wow. This was one of those taco moments.

I just finished four tacos from Tacos Apson—two cabeza, two carne asada—and I’m still riding the flavor wave.

Let’s start with the cabeza tacos, because… wow.
The meat is butter-soft, almost melting as soon as it hits your tongue. Every bite feels rich and silky, with that deep, slow-cooked beef flavor that only cabeza can give you. And then the corn tortillas—soft, warm, slightly steamy—just hug the meat. No resistance, no fight. It’s this smooth, luxurious bite where everything blends together. You don’t even chew so much as experience it.

Then you switch gears to the carne asada tacos, and it’s a totally different kind of joy.
These are crunchy on the edges, springy in the middle, with that perfect char from the grill. The meat has chew, but in a satisfying way—juicy, beefy, smoky. And those flour tortillas? Chewy, flavorful, and sturdy, with that slight elasticity that snaps back when you bite into it. The contrast between the crisp beef and the bouncy tortilla is chef’s kiss.

And now—let’s talk about the salsa verde.
This stuff is alive. Bright, tangy, herbaceous, and spicy in the best way. Every bite gets lit up—your lips tingle, your mouth wakes up, and suddenly you’re going back in for another bite without even thinking. It doesn’t overpower; it elevates. It cuts through the richness of the cabeza and dances perfectly with the char of the asada.

This is the kind of taco meal where you stop mid-bite, shake your head a little, and think:
“Man… this is why tacos exist.”

If you’re reading this, you’re probably looking for tacos in Tucson. You would be remiss if you skipped Tacos Apson. The asada is great, but you’re here for the costillas tacos (beef rib meat shaved off the bone). 10/10

I was in Tucson for several days on a business meeting. I found Tacos Apson and went there four times during my 5 day trip!!

The tacos easy rasurado and beef rib plate were absolutely phenomenal. I’ve been to Mexico City and even the tacos there pale in comparison to this gem.

I didn’t like Tucson at all because of the heat, but I’d move there just to have these tacos daily. Best taco shop in Tucson bar none.

Tacos were so good. I ordered a Few carne asada, a few tripas, and a few pastor. Tripas is usually a hit or miss depending on the place but this place did em real good. Carne asada tacos were the safe bet but I had no problem eating the tripa tacos and ofcourse the carne asada tacos came out real good. I woulda been disappointed if those didnt haha but dont fear. The pastor tacos were for my girlfriend, I ordered one because I like pastor but asada and a good tripa taco are my favorite. It was so good thar my girlfriend asked for my pastor taco so I only had a bite of it but I wasnt even tripping I was happy with my tacos and she was happy with hers and it was real good. good size too.
