This is a solid taco chain, however like their other locations better. This spot is a bit smaller, so it feels a little more cramped, but the food is still good and the staff is very nice. The tacos taste great—especially the Brussels sprout taco, which really stood out. The chips were freshly made and the guava basil drink was my favorite. Not my top location, but definitely still worth stopping by.

Tacos have become a beloved and ever-present part of American cuisine. Still, their journey from their Mexican origins to the US is a fascinating tale of culinary cross-cultural exchange. In recent decades, there has been a resurgence of interest in authentic Mexican cuisine, including traditional tacos. Tacos made with fresh ingredients, diverse fillings, and regional flavors have gained popularity.

It doesn’t matter when one walks through the door of this small chain establishment; there will probably be a line, but don’t worry; it moves quickly.

Located at Edgewater Commons, Tacoria – Mexican Street Kitchen was first founded by a couple of Rutgers alumni “who really love Mexican food,” and we came today to this first Elite event of the year thanks to Sara and the Yelp Team.

Upon arrival, that sign caught our eyes. Entering through its door, their cozy interior decor evokes liveliness and invites description as a mixture of modern, funky, rustic, and industrial, with Mexican decor giving a good first impression.

The food ordering was pretty quick, as we’ve been to their other locations. The innovative menu wasn’t large, but there were lots of good options for vegetarians, vegans, and carnivores.

Hayden assisted us. My partner and I decided on takeout the Chicken Pastor Burrito, Steak Taco, Beyond Tacorizo Taco (veggie), Grilled Chicken Taco, and Mexican Street Corn. We washed them down with some Agua Frescas (Limonada and Horchata).

The flavors in each dish were perfectly balanced, with ingredients tasting incredibly fresh and authentic. One can truly tell the care and precision that went into every bite—each item was cooked to absolute perfection. Nothing was greasy. The staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating.

Whether one’s a local or just passing through, it’s a must-visit spot.

Tacoria is consistently better than the other Mexican chains nearby. The Al Pastor tacos and the street corn are absolute must-orders. I’ve worked my way through most of the menu and everything is pretty high quality. Love the interior design and the friendly service.

Parking right in front of the door can be tough because of the Starbucks and Cava crowds, but it’s part of a strip mall and the lot is massive, so just park a little further down and save yourself the headache of circling!

This place was awesome. My first time coming inside here. They were very friendly & welcoming. They explained the menu very well. I didn’t feel rushed to make my order. Fresh guacamole and chips. Place is clean. The workers work as a team and seem to get along pretty well. They know customers by name which I love so much.

This is the last time I’m ordering any food from this stingy rip-off town of Edgewater. $12 for two carne asada beef tacos that I thought were going to be huge for the price, and they were so light and small that I had to cook dinner at home anyway. What a rip off this is. I’m going to order from a place that I know is going to give me a great value, Viva margarita in Cliffside Park. This place in Edgewater is so stingy. And what kind of a Mexican food establishment does not even have refried pinto beans?

A conveniently located Mexican spot in Edgewater! The space inside isn’t huge but definitely spacious enough, with four large picnic-style tables that make it easy for groups or families. The staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the taco and burrito box (platter), and they also have a kids’ menu. My little one liked the quesadilla and corn very much. High chairs are available. It is a solid option for a casual and tasty meal with kids.

So happy to see them expanding in North NJ. This is also has fantastic interior like the Paramus one. But it is smaller in size, way less space to dine in. We didn’t have seats to eat at the store, so took our order to go.

I got the triple taco entree with beef and chicken. Both had pile of guacamole on top. Tacos were amazing. Love how they combine the toppings with the protein. The tacos were fresh and soft. Excellent job maintaining the quality of the tacos. The street corn was also a wonderful side item. If I am in the area, I’ll surely stop by here again.
