740 votes, 297 comments. I like Taco Viva, but I don’t think it’s that slept on. It’s been getting a lot of attention recently.

Taco Viva is easy to spot with that big black, white, and red building right on Indian School. They’ve got their own parking lot and even a drive-thru, which is always nice.
When we walked in, there was already a long line to order, so you know it’s popular. Inside, it’s really spacious with high ceilings, and they have both indoor and outdoor seating. The place was clean, and the staff was constantly wiping down tables as soon as people left.
The line moved a little slow, but honestly, it wasn’t bad at all. We ordered tacos, tostadas, and especiales. Everything was fresh and really tasty. The especiales were a bit salty, but still totally fine. Our only regret was not ordering more.
They also have a self-serve condiment station, which helps things move faster when it’s busy.
By the time we finished eating, there was still a steady line of people ordering. Even then, it didn’t feel too crowded because tables turned over pretty quickly.

Real good tijuana style tacos. Everything from the service to the food was delicious. The music almost makes you want to dance in there. The slabs on the Al Pastor meat were just cooked to perfection. The salsa and handmade tortillas really complemented all the flavors together. The Agua de Horchata definitely delicious. Definitely worth to try them out over and over again.

They melt in your mouth. The tortillas were obviously fresh, the pineapple had the perfect sweetness and wasn’t cold, the guacamole was delicious and creamy, and the onion wasn’t too strong, just adding texture. The al pastor had excellent flavor and crispy bits. The atmosphere was very pleasant and reminded me of some of best I have had in my many trips to Mexico.

Without a doubt the most authentic Mexican tacos you can get in Arizona. There is always a long line, but believe me it’s absolutely worth it, the tacos are absolutely the best!

Really cant go wrong here; every bite is a well balanced flavor bomb. Freshly made tortillas are SO delicious. The salsa bar also has mild to spicy salsa that makes my heart sing .

Oh my gosh, what a PHX gem! Great food- I had carne tacos flour tortilla. Meat was flavorful (didn’t need to season it) and tortillas are made in house. Super fresh, super simple, super delicious. I started with one then went back for a second taco. And very lively music and atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back and will bring friends.

We love coming here for some taco cravings! I love the handmade tortillas and great taste in meats! The salsas have awesome flavor in them also and if the salsas aint right nothing else is ,is my go to motto and here they have it down. The service is great and never disappointing. You also get alot for your money’s worth compared to other over prices places that aren’t even that great. You wont regret spending your money here thats for sure. I highly recommend this place now to friends and family.

Taco Viva, a great new option in Phoenix.
My kid invited me for lunch on Friday and I have seen many vids about this taco spot but never tried it before so let’s see how our lunch outing went…
The place was packed for lunch, but still the place was clean, open and the food came out quick.
They have 4 taqueros who meet u to make sure your order is right, they confirm and make the tacos in front of you and que taquero was great, thank you.
THE FOOD, u gotta try your tacos with tortillas, this is the only way to go, it made a huge difference in the flavor. Even though they make all tortillas in house, the just tasted fresh, soft and warm.
THE MEATS, I had 3 tacos, mushrooms, asada and pastor. Nothing special about asada tbh, maybe a 6.5, and I think Ta’Carbon is a much better option.
Mushroom taco was great for those who vegetarian or vegan food, it was flavorful and the corn tortilla w the salsas made the flavor pop! I will say 8.
Pastor, this one was the main one, the meat was fresh, tender and juicy, I just feel disappointed I didn’t get it in a corn tortilla. This one is a strong 9.
THE BALD TRUTH, tacos were smaller than Ta’Carbon and had less meat than taco boyz, but they are flavorful, just skip the carne asada, you can also get pollo asado which looked great and they have a great variety of options which makes it a strong option for everyone’s taste buds.
Prices are avg around $3.50 per taco, they also offer, Vampiros which is kind of like a hard flat taco/tostada and other great options.
So what are you thinking should u give this a try?

Delicious! This appears to be a chain store, but wow, what good real food and quality sauces. They prepare each dish in front of you. Its customized to your taste. Its not instant, but still quick. You can order ahead or on the spot. Plenty of tables inside and out.
