I KNOW Taco Villa (you can see my ratings for proof) as I grew up in “Taco Villa Country.” We were traveling and I had Googled Taco Villa locations as I thought we were going thru Odessa. Turns out we didn’t but shockingly we stopped for gas in Andrews and happened to see the Taco Villa sign. Peculiarly Google didn’t list this location. We were excited. I say we ‘were.’ I noticed the sign had Texas Burger. I’d never seen that before (or a Texas Burger). Turns out this is the ONLY location with a Texas Burger. You know what they say about hindsight……we should’ve tried the TX Burger instead of Taco Villa. ☹️

When you enter the restaurant is noticeably different than other Taco Villa locations. It’s more local decorated re: the mural for the sports team. Nicer art on the walls too. The restaurant itself looks nice. I’d never seen ice cream at a Taco Villa lol. Walked up to the counter where 2 employees were standing talking to each other at the register. We stood there and they just stood there staring at us. WTH?? I tried to make conversation saying we were surprised to see the restaurant. The girl looked at me like I was from another planet. Then she looked to the employee next to her. He said “What? Why are you staring at me?” Fortunately another employee came to the register and asked if we wanted to order. While I was ordering my Son asked Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum if they were taking orders. Yup. I reckon they just didn’t want to wait on me. SMH.

Normally we order Taco Burgers. My Son & family ordered 6. I ordered a combo burrito. The meat on the taco burgers was overcooked and flavorless. They ended up throwing 4 of them away. My burrito was simply awful. Zero and I mean ZERO flavor. I ordered extra cheese. Apparently they don’t understand what that means or they put only a tiny sprinkling of cheese to start because I barely got a regular cheese portion. The red sauce that makes Taco Villa stand out lacked any flavor. I had to go get hot sauce and pour it in the burrito for a flavor besides overcooked meat. Normally the red sauce on the burritos has a bit of a kick; so you wouldn’t need to add additional sauce. Sometimes that kick will clear your sinuses lol.

I grew up eating at Taco Villa. Heck, we practically ate there for lunch everyday in high school lol. You can always count on consistency of taste and quality at Taco Villa no matter the decade or location (I’ve eaten in the Amarillo/Canyon locations 3 times this year when I went home for visits). Albeit some are better than others but the ingredients are the same. This location doesn’t do justice to the Taco Villa name. Again, hindsight…. should’ve tried the burger & ice cream.

I would give it a 4 but the tortillas made me sad. Why would you replace amazing fresh tortillas for crap tasting cardboard flyers!?!!!?!?! One of the best parts of taco villa is thr soft homemade tortillas back and bring this back!!

They had half the drive thru line waiting for what seemed to be thirty minutes. So they could clear out the ones the moved from the window to make there time look better.

The nacho fries I ordered were drenched is cheese(not complaining since we usually don’t get much) but the fries weren’t cooked through.

Chili cheese fries were just a mess coming out of the sides of the to go box.

A lot times it’s all thrown together and it shows.

Absolutely horrible service. The comprehension level and ability to do their job surprised me that they are still in business, even being a chain. Then they freak out over $76 worth of food. It’s literally an order for 4 people, that’s 4 meals, not 76 of them. I’m writing this out as we sit here still waiting on our food 25 min later while others are getting theirs and leaving. We will see how much longer it takes. This is ridiculous. Should have gone to the good one in Odessa, their manager Michael needs to come slap this one into shape too! I have no hope that our order will be correct either.

OH AND NOT TO MENTION THEY DONT SERVE THE FULL MENU. BE CAUTIOUS HERE.

I got charged an incorrect amount of $27.02 for 4 bean burritos with extra cheese.
It should’ve only been around $13.12+tax literally double the price and more what a scam.

I asked for 4 bean and cheese burritos with extra cheese.
Let’s do some math real fast
1 bean burrito = $2.29
1 extra cheese = $.99

Now lets add the two numbers, and we get
$3.28 that is the correct cost of 1 bean and cheese burrito with extra cheese

So 4 burritos with extra cheese would be
$3.28X4= $13.12 not including tax.

So HOW IN WORLD DID IT COST $27.02

I went inside and complained and received only $4.25 back in compensation. I will never return. I even have the receipt to provide evidence.

Absolutely ridiculous. The fact this did not get resolved correctly, blows my mind. Should have charged me the correct amount to begin with or refunded me the over charge

I got charged $6.25per bean burrito with extra cheese instead of $3.28 per burrito

From what I understand this is the original Taco Villa and it’s my favorite. It also has Texas Burger with ice cream. Hard to pass if you are in Andrews TX.

I’ve seen this place go from good to bad, bad to great, & Now…. How in the heck do they stay in business? I know the Cox company has a higher standard than this. Unfortunately the people that are hired are High School students and no-one wants to work. They want the pay but the Customer Service left. Unfortunately The staff have become more racially motivated. The places “Cleanliness” has something to be desired. Tables aren’t cleaned as they should be. I’ve had to clean my own table and seating because Management won’t tell anyone to do their job. Unless of course…. Well I choose not to stop to their level. The food sometimes isn’t cooked enough and I’ve chosen NOT to return for a long while. I give it a 2 in hopes things will change for the better.
