Stopped here for taco dinner after a long work day and boy tacos are the best comfort food out there.
Taco Taxi is a nice, cozy and very authentic spot.
The food variety is good, plenty of drink options, and the music is what you’ll hear on the other side of the boarder.
The service was good and the food was amazing. I had Al Pastor and Chorizo tacos (you get 5 tacos per order!) that were just finger licking good! Accompanied by their homemade Horchata that hit the spot.
Will DEFINITELY come back. It’s 3 minutes from my friend’s house!

Just moved to River Vale from Astoria Queens and tried this on my way home from the Gym (Retro in PR). First off I came in 15 mins before they closed and they were about to close the kitchen and reopend it to make my tacos so kindness already wins! However, the most important part …The Food. If you are expecting Michelin Star tacos then you should go to a Michelin Star restaurant. For anyone that says the food is not good is just bsing. This is a solid taco spot and good to eat on the go or for a quick lunch or dinner. I have had plenty of good tacos being from queens having some of the best taco spots in the world in my boro. This place would definitely compete has a solid neighborhood spot in Queens. Definitely worth going and eating. Plus the five tacos for 15 bucks is a pretty good deal in an inflationary world. Don’t listen to the haters that say this food isn’t good.

The tacos are nice, done in a more traditional manner than your typical tex mex taco. The prices have gone up though, so 5 tacos for $10 has become 5 for $15. Some of the meat was a little drier, but the included sauces covers that pretty well.

Such a disappointing experience tonight. I went to pick up an order that was supposed to be ready at 6, but I received it at 6:20, that’s okay. But when I got home, I noticed items were missing. I immediately called and said I’d be coming back for them. I assumed the girl on the phone would have told the kitchen I was coming back, but when I get there 10 minutes later, after a few minutes she asked what it was that I needed (???).
So she writes the ticket for the kitchen, said it’d be 10 minutes. I’m waiting for 20 more minutes, then she proceeds to go into the bar area with two customers (she was the only phone/counter person).
I see that my order is up behind the counter, and I literally had to tell her to please come get it for me. Not a single apology or acknowledgment that I’ve been at this for an hour. And I get it, the service industry sucks, so I expect the bare minimum. But this was so disappointing & I won’t return.
