The Taco Stand in Athens probably doesn’t need another review to keep business booming but I will give them a shout out anyway.
This place has been a staple since as long as I can remember.
Athens has seen for to keep this establishment open for decades and any trip will show why.
Easy in and out parking lot. Friendly staff and great food. What more do you want?
They have some indoor seats as well as a huge outside covered seating.
It’s hard to choose what to mention when it comes to the food so just start at the top and order something different each time? You won’t be disappointed.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hidden Gem for Burritos, Laughs, and… Sparkling Clean Bathrooms?
If you are looking for a quick bite and a genuinely good time in Athens, look no further than the Taco Stand on Milledge Avenue.
This spot is my go-to for a fast, delicious burrito, but it’s the atmosphere that keeps me coming back. It’s not just a place to eat; it’s a place to hang out. The vibe is always upbeat, and the staff is incredible. They are super fun to socialize with and seem to have an endless supply of top-tier dad jokes ready to go. You’ll leave full of food and laughter.
And here is the kicker that you would never guess looking at a casual burrito joint: they might just have the cleanest bathrooms in Athens. It’s a surprising but very welcome detail that shows how much they care about the place.

Great experience! I am new to Athens, and my boss suggested we have Taco Stand for dinner tonight. I ordered enchiladas, however they had ran out of the shells they use. The manager went to the grocery store to purchase the ingredients needed to prepare our delicious dinner! There were actually 4 of us eating here for the first time, and we were all impressed! I will definitely be back!!!

Meh at best. My baja burrito was soggy with black bean water. So I put it in a bowl to try to eat it, then discovered it was full of purple onions. That’s on me for forgetting to say no onions. Then, there wasn’t the slightest taste of cilantro at all. My bf’s quesadilla didn’t come with the chips (but whatever about chips really), and his was meh as well. I can honestly make better at home, so I guess I will from now on. Considering we paid $23 for 2 of us to eat lunch. Geez. Was hoping this hole in the wall type place would be a hit. Besides the parking and location being atrocious (they share asphalt with DD so BEWARE of gridlock), I do always see people there. We won’t be back, but you should at least try it once. Don’t take my word for it. Service was good. No issues there. Very nice staff.

It’s really too bad the downtown flagship location closed. The nimrods that work at the Milledge location can’t make anything correct. This is a picture of a chicken salad that they neglected to put chicken on. Great job! You couldn’t even keep a job at McDonalds. Sober up and take some pride in your work or your location will be closed next.

Absolutely love this place. I’m a bit of a older woman and I have been going to taco stand since I was in my teens. I have always enjoyed this place. I have great food. Great service and a awesome day outside. That’s very cool and calm to eat on. It’s a little more pricier than I remember, but what is it these days? I will always be back and I will always recommend this place absolutely positively succulent.

Douglas has the best customer service and knows how to run a restaurant. Extremely impressed with the entire process. Great food, great vibes! Must come if you are in town

The folks seemed nice enough but they seem quite bored or just stoned.
Now the food was bland! The meat had no seasoning or flavor. The steak might as well be rubber and the chicken almost tasted like boiled peanuts instead of of chicken. The salsa tasted can and the cheese dip has the after taste of spinach. 5 tacos, a large cheese dip with chips costed 30 bucks and definitely not worth it.
There are much better places to eat!
