Got a burrito here a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it! Best burrito I’ve had in a while and definitely recommend the Al Pastor!
Update: Went by again and got the Carne Asada tacos this time. Carne Asada was amazing! Food arrived quickly, in about 10 min, but I was the only one in line when I ordered.

Food was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed 4 crispy tacos and 3 shrimp taco’s
Amazing amount of shrimp in a delicious sauce. The crispy taco’s were also loaded with meat and cheese. Be careful when you ask for HOT sauce, just saying!!

Food is tasty and large portions!
I just tried the carne asada burrito and it was phenomenal. I couldn’t finish it, but will save it for later.
Caveat was it took 20 mins to get the food, but after eating, the wait was worth it.

This place was amazing. We ate here while visiting from Texas. Being a Texan I am picky on my mexican food, but this place did not disappoint. Great flavors and portions. Hands down the best food we ate while in Long Beach / Ilwaco area. Don’t pass by this small place or you will regret it.

I have gone here in the past and had very good food so I was excited to go back. Tonight I had Carne Asade burrito and was a bit disappointed. While the overall flavor was good the meat was not tender and I found about 5 inedible pieces in it including cartilage.

So they used to be amazing. Not sure what happened but just got 2 burritos. They are tasty, my complaint is, where’s the meat? We had Carnesasds burritos. The meat was ONLY at the very bottom of the burrito. Still very tasty but the might want to make sure the inside is evenly spread through the burrito.

Greetings peninsula folks and beyond and cheers from your friendly neighborhood peninsula foodie! Looks like a blustery end to 2023 here at the beach so hold on to your hats! I finally got a chance to stop in at the Taco Shack since it changed hands earlier this year and they did not disappoint!

As I had a gift certificate still burning a hole in my pocket, I grabbed a couple different items to check it out. As a burrito junkie, I knew I had to grab that carnivore burrito… and since I had a bit more on my GC, I went ahead and grabbed 3 street tacos each with a different protein.

Now that carnivore burrito is legit! It’s a behemoth that I was able to eat without a fork, but just barely. With all the meats, you may struggle to finish it since its loaded up with refried beans, Mexican rice, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, diced onions, sour cream, shredded cheese and guacamole! Every bite was full of flavor and the meats were so tender and juicy. I added my own hot sauces since, you know, I keep a stash at work… On point!

The street tacos were just that… great little street tacos. Perfectly portioned and just about 3-4 bites each, they were good! Double corn tortillas filled with your choice of meats…I got 1 with the carne asada, 1 with El Pastor and 1 with birria. They come topped with diced onions and cilantro and are topped with a generous amount of queso fresco. With a squeeze of lime on each taco they were ready to go! Chowed down on those, made short work of em, and at only $3 a pop, you’ll get a great meal at a reasonable price!

So if you’re looking for another great Mexican food place to grab a bite, stop in and say hi to the crew over at the Taco Shack on the corner of Sid Snyder and Pacific. If ya do, tell em the foodie sent ya! Until next time, cheers and beach appetit from your friendly neighborhood peninsula foodie!

This is a great addition to Long Beach.
This savory little food stand is nestled right off of Pacific Ave (on Sid Snyder) and in prime location for a good lunch on the beach.
The staff were friendly and I liked the music playing in the building, which was lound enough to entertain you while you wait without being obnoxiously loud (good call guys).
We tried tacos and carnitas and were not disappointed. The meet was flavorful and fresh. The onion and cilantro were cut small and evenly (good knife skills are both a *must* and dwendling in the industry). I really enjoyed my food.
Some feedback: I would have wanted my tortilla cooked a little more or less oil, and 2 tacos were ordered without onion and had them (so I ate them, more for me!)
I’m excited to see where this goes…

Been there five times in a year and it’s gotten worse. Carne asada had zero seasoning on it and was chewy, full of inedible gristle. It should be tenderized and marinated don’t ya think? They weren’t busy, I was the only person there. I also had a chunk of bone in my taco. I hate doing this to a local company. I’ve talked to their marketing guy and they’re wondering why they’re not making money apparently. What gives?? They’re running a good business into the ground.
