This is a small restaurant, and the parking lot is not very big and is shared with another business so heads up on that. I’ve gone with a group and with just one other person and we were served well each time. This restaurant has changed it’s name to ” Sylvia’s Cafe” so that’s the name you actually need to be looking for. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and they have a good variety of food to choose from. (The pic of the menu is from only one page of the menu, so there’s more they offer). My only negative comment is the small amount of refried beans they give on some of their plates, it’s almost the portion for a child’s plate in other restaurants, so I would encourage them to be a little more generous with that. Otherwise, I recommend you visit and enjoy the great food here, I know I’ll be going back again real soon!

This is one of the best small, unknown, local taquerias here in San Antonio! The food, all local favorites, are fantastic. And the service is always top notch. Lots of room here so you don’t feel cramped like many other restaurants. Be on the look out for their specialty breakfast tacos; the Colby and Enrique tacos are the best!

In the past year the overall quality of the business has gone down. Won’t be returning. Staff was rude and food was pretty disappointing.

Great food! Excellent service!
The atmosphere is very friendly and feels like family the moment we walked in. The waitress had us drinks and menus in less than a minute!
The homemade tortillas are delicious.
I recommend if you’re in the area and want a bite to eat, stop here. Easy access in and out from San Pedro.
Dine in or take out. Good food is what this place is about!

Really great diner feel. They have two tacos that they are famous for and one is jimmy deans sausage, egg and cheese. Simple food that is really tasty. They can get busy in the mornings but their take out is super easy.

The level of politeness goes just as far as the level of meal that I had.

I gave them 3 star rating. Just stopped there for quick breakfast tacos and the tacos were like 40 percent filled. I didnt give them 1 star because the tortillas were actually pretty good. But the bean and cheese tacos and potatoes and egg were almost empty tacos. Coffee was actually good too.

Taco Riendo food & service always great,
EXCEPT TODAY, Sunday July 21st., it was AWFUL!!!
We were a large party of 10.
1) most of us ordered sweet tea, tea had NO sugar at all. But waitress insisted it was “sweet tea”.
2) we actually waited 1HOUR to get our food. Yet, many other tables of 2 or 4 were all getting their food before us.
3)one of the orders was 2 barbacoa tacos on corn tortillas. Well, the corn tortillas were as cold as if they had been in refrigerator AND NOT HEATED!!!
4 I ordered 2 crispy tacos. 1 beef & 1 chicken.
The crispy tortilla shells were TRULY old, not crispy but hard. The beef meat was good & tasty. However, the chicken was JUST BOILED, NO FLAVOR!!!
I writing this because I feel it’s important for Sylvia(owner) to know this because it is NOT typical of Taco Riendo.

Fantastic food, fresh hand-made tortillas and delicious breakfast tacos. The Norteño taco is the best value. The Big Ed taco is my favorite.
The roasted home-made salsa has the best flavor of any salsa I’ve had. The green salsa is great if you like a lot of heat.
They also have a great taco deal before 10am 12 tacos for 13 dollars.

I love this place!! We had their Sunday special (what a great deal!), it offers menudo AND a barbacoa taco. The manager came by to greet us and our server was extremely friendly and curteous. Their tables were all cleaned promptly as customers left and the music made the environment very enjoyable. Best tortillas (flour and corn) anywhere!!!
