Don Pancho had a vision to create a fast casual Mexican restaurant that would provide true Mexican flavor. This is how the Palenque chain was born. Originally from Sinaloa, Mexico and now a U.S. citizen, Don Pancho originally founded El Pollo Loco© which was a success that led him to open his first Taco Palenque® back in 1987 in Laredo, Texas. Taco Palenque® is mainly known for its authentic Mexican tacos. It has become the ultimate place to spend time with family and friends while enjoying a meal. In fact, positive word of mouth has had a major impact on our satisfied customers. There are several Taco Palenque® locations operating throughout the south region of Texas and are continuing to grow.

Definitely not the Taco Palenque from the old days… lukewarm menudo, piratas that seemed to be sitting around a while and guisado taco that well…should’ve been served in a bowl w tortillas on the side. And FYI, 2 bad tortillas don’t equal up to one good one. Such a waste of tortillas…no wonder their prices keep going through the roof. No more of what USED to be a great late night staple for many years.

Question? Did y’all change your bean recipe? Last Thursday I picked up an order of bean tacos and they tasted very different. This pass early morning I went to the loop 20 location and ordered another bean taco and it was horrible!!! Are you all not using Bush beans or what??? With the reason food prices going up I expected the same quality but not this time!!! I hope y’all look into this since your bean tacos went up by 89 cents!!!

Mejor tumben esté edificio. Water puddles on all doorways. Multiple roof leaks. I can overlook that but the service? Inattentive leader. Grease all over the chip tray (pools of it) it’s 4am after I had dinner there and my stomach is no bueno. And slow slow slow drive through (reason I went inside) coke was GOOD! But not $4 dollars good.

The Best steak tacos in Laredo and Texas! A friend of ours who is Caucasian white from Ohio wanted to buy tacos or burritos from Taco Bell and we convinced him buying Fajita Tacos (Steak Tacos he calls them). He is glad to have found such place. Highly recommend if you want grilled food.

Not many people in this location so I was in and out quickly with my order. The speed at which my order was taken till the time it came out was incredible. The dining section was very well cleaned and huge. They follow the social distancing guidelines, which I love. I haven’t seen the bathrooms there, but had I and they were clean, I would have rated this location a 5. I highly recommend this place. One minor detail though, if you are traveling North bound on Loop 20 you will pass this location, but don’t worry, just get on the right lane and turn into Lakeside Division. Drive inside for a few yards and do a U turn and take a left at the light exiting Lakeside. Stay on the right lane and a few feet turn into Taco Palenque. It might be a hassle for those going North bound but it’s worth it. Oh and the Piratas are well served here.

I was really shocked how much food I got at this place. Lately, Mexican restaurants have been high dollar, so I expected the same here. Shockingly, I got a ton of food for the price. The salsa bar is also savage. In fact, I saw a couple descend onto it and balisitc. Full throttle, no governor. Nobody said anything or even batted an eye. A +++

This was my first visit to this particular Taco Palenque location. The place is clean and, orderly; the Men’s room was tidy and well stocked. Taco Palenque is proof Mexican food can be fast and done well.
