I think that this place could have better quality food especially for its location and the prices are overpriced for the quality as well. I paid almost $17 for 2 tacos that supposedly comes with chips and salsa and a side. The corn was wayyyyy overcooked, like mushy. I got steak tacos but I think you should rethink how to assembly these…it was basically just filled with lettuce and toppings and then laid steak pieces on top…not very good for eating a hard taco. Everything just fell off. I could get chipotle for less money with better quality of food.

5 stars for the food, service and atmosphere! We ate dinner here on our trip from Wisconsin, at the recommendation of a friend, and it did not disappoint! The food and drinks were SO delicious and the portions were very generous for what we ordered (huge build-your-own burritos with chips and salsa and another side). All the employees were so nice, the service was so fast and the restaurant itself is so fun and colorful! We ate on the outdoor patio, which was lovely.

Service great – location great – atmosphere really good. Build your own taco my son had was overflowing and good and fresh – as was my grilled quesadilla. Chips are salty – and I mean salty – with not a lot there (taste/texture). Solid choice if you’re in a Mexican food mood.

One of our favorite go to’s when we are in Tuscaloosa. Great food, cool vibe, decent service, fantastic drink menu and a great location. Lots of options on the menu for everyone. So many things to look at while you wait. Love this place.

First timer at Taco Mama this past Saturday evening and loved it!! Don’t let the line scare you – we were stopped not far in the door, but the line moves pretty fast!
Our table had a mixture of bowls and quesadillas and it was all great! The queso dip was FINE!! I do wish the chips were a bit thicker, but others at our table loved that the chips were thin. The margarita pitcher was spot on as well! Definitely new fans of Taco Mama!

Taco Mama is the best. Best bartender is Tuscaloosa, she was the best. She gave us food venues to check out. Very nice and knowledgeable about the menu and recommendations. We will most definitely be back next year. The atmosphere and management is perfect! The best dishes

Great food! Visited here 3 times in 3 days while visiting my daughter at the University of Alabama. I ordered Steak Tacos, Steak Quesadilla, Barbacoa Quesadilla. Food is fresh prepared with fresh ingredients. Definitely a must!

First time there and was met at the door bye couple of ladies who explained how you order and directed you along. The one who took order was great at explaining options on how to build your taco without you feeling rushed.
After order placed it didn’t take long for them to get it out and it was very pleasent atmosphere. Thanks for the experience.

The tacos have a measly amount of meat in them. The box is filled to the top with crushed chips. Honestly I hate to be that person but I get a lot more at taco bell for $6. The quality is similar, too. I won’t be coming here again. It’s overrated because of other students I suppose. But the vibe is great, it’s a beautiful place, and the staff are extremely nice.
