We LOVE Trussville Taco Mama! Taco Mama is typically pretty great no matter what location, but Trussville truly has that special touch and it makes all the difference. The food is ALWAYS perfect. The people are the loveliest. And the margs are always on point. Zack, Chloe, Destiny, and Casey always make our Friday nights great with their warm welcomes, their attentive service, and the delicious food. Make sure Casey makes your margarita- he makes THE BEST!

My first time at Taco Mama and I found a great atmosphere but was a little disappointed in the taste factor. I had the Classico Beef taco basket which included two tacos, chips, salsa, fountain drink and a side (I chose black beans). They gave a very large serving of chips and I went through to small salsa containers and found it to be rather unique and tasty. I think I detected a slight taste of apple or some fruit. The black beans also had a good and different taste to me. The only problem I had was with the tacos which I had to sprinkle with plenty of hot sauce to detect any taste!!!! Im not sure if the beef was old, dried out or what the problem was but I could not detect any beef taste or flavor which made the tacos too bland for me Other than the ground beef, the tacos were filled with shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and sour cream. I would certainly go back and recommend Taco Mama because I feel my “tasteless” experience was just a one time fluke. The staff were very friendly and you have a choice of eating in or outside at one of several tables. Very laid back atmosphere like you might find at the beach or in Mexico.

I am giving them a four rating. Why? So, everyone has been telling me, I need to go to Taco Mama in Trussville and take the kiddos. I was really curious what the restaurant hype was all about and the magnetic force driving my family and friends to this eatery. I had to see for myself.
Since, it was my off day. I took the ride. Calling this dinner outing mommy and son time.
I must say my son and I had a good experience. Though, I must acknowledge some minor flaws that bothered my pet peeves. Below is a breakdown of pros, cons, and pic’s.
Pros:
Food is tasty and freshly served
Meals served promptly
Variety of dishes
Variety of liquor beverages and Coca Cola fountain machine
Polite servers
Knowledgeable and professional
Friendly atmosphere
Ambiance align with theme
Handicap accessible
Conventional clean in reference to traffic coming in and out
Dine in
Dine outside
Cons:
Menu pamphlets are stained
Only one cashier
Customers will stand behind one another closely. Can I say alligator length. It was a little uncomfortable. (Also, no signs requiring distance between customers in line)
Not so spacious dining inside (tables are close in proximity) no private conversations amongst customers
Pricey for the inadequate serving of meat to nacho chips ratio. This goes for burritos as well. It’s kind of disappointing because the food is good.

This is one of the best Tacos Mama locations. The staff are so attentive. They always go above and beyond to provide the best customer service. We always enjoy our time at this location. The food is great every time!

From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted and given a menu. Asked if we needed any help deciding or if we had any questions about the menu. The cashier was friendly. The food was served super fast. Food was fresh, the right temperature and the servous was great.

We ordered and paid at counter – Chicken Bowl and a Steak Bowl.
After choosing an outdoor table we didn’t wait long (less than 5 minutes) before our meal was before us.
It was hot, flavorful and delicious. Fresh chips and salsa was on par with what you expect at good Southwestern restaurants – the tomatillo salsa is quite hot and heavily flavored with cilantro.
We fully intend on returning here for other entrees we haven’t tried.
