As soon as you walk in you’re greeted and the staff was friendly and helpful.
The space is nice and they have a “sunroom” area that I hope opens up in nicer weather so a breeze comes in.
But all in all we’re here for the food. I ordered a build your own burrito which comes with chips, salsa, and a side.
The salsa was tasty, I would like to see the chips seasoned with some salt and maybe some lime. Otherwise they are plain fried tortillas. Though the portion of chips is generous.
The street corn side was also a decent amount and the cup was full but again was noticeably under seasoned so I had to add some salt from the table.
Then the main event; the burrito. It’s pretty fat but when I cut it in half there was maybe 2oz of meat inside. One half didn’t have any meat at all. It was just full of rice and veggies. I mentioned it to an employee who was quick to have the burrito remade on the fly and brought out to me.
The remake was much more balanced though as a trend, it was under seasoned.
Had they been open for a few months I may have gave a much harsher score but considering everything it was a middle of the road experience with issues that can easily be corrected.
The staff was nice enough that I would go back for that reason alone and possibly try the Tuesday margs. Management was very open to the feedback and I look ways to seeing the improvements as everyone gets settled in.
Service was also great had two lines open and food came out quick. Margarita was lacking for me but I’m a tequila snob and drink Texas margaritas mostly. Food was good but chicken tacos were bland had to smother it with hot sauce. Steak was great and nachos were awesome and stacked high up. Good experience would do it again.
Line was very long and we waited 35 min to place our order. This is a new establishment to the area, and of course it’ll be busier than usual with 1st guest. We’ll see how it does in the future. Tacos could have been better. Husband & I got two different styles with the Barbacoa protein. Protein was lacking in the taco & not flavorful. Cooked well as far as texture and such.
They were very generous on the portion with the steak taco! It was jammed packed. We asked for some sauces on the side— did not as for our sauce on the taco to be on the side. That was an easy mix up. But I think the one style taco would have been better for sure if it had a melted type of garlic butter instead of us getting a cold side of it. We just wanted to try the sauces they offered since it was our first time to see what we would like in future when ordering. We are sauce folks!
I am looking forward to coming back once everyone gets adjusted to the flow and hopefully the line situation works its self out. Refried beans with chorizo were hot, fresh and delicious. The street corn needed a little salt. The cheesy beef tacos had a few crumble of cheese and watered down cheese dip maybe? I’d suggest doing the shredded cheese! I think that would be good. I’ll try it ordered that way, next time.
The tea was good! We are tea snobs and we enjoyed it! Super fresh and perfect tea strength to sugar ration. Sauces were PERFECT. We enjoyed them!!
Service was great. Everyone was kind and helpful. Food did come out quick! We had enough time to fix our drinks, find a seat & have a few min to talk.
