This place is great my husband and I came here on a little date. Glen was super friendly and helped explain the menu. All the staff were outstanding. The food is enormous portions so you definitely get your moneys worth and everything tasted great! The queso dip and Mac and cheese sides were so delicious. We both got the ground beef burritos. I think I only ate about half and took the rest home. Everything is clean and orderly they’ve got a great operation going on here. They also have cute outdoor seating and you can get takeout. We will definitely be coming back!

The staff were all so friendly and informative and just great to talk to overall. So many customizable options and the fact that all the toppings are no extra charge was insane. Usually its an arm and a leg to add guacamole and queso! I got the build your own steak burrito and loaded it with beans, cheeses and veggies. My husband got the Hippie Fisherman and it was loaded with flavor. The sides we chose were the Mexican mac n cheese and the street corn, the Mac was a tad on the dry side but flavor was great, the corn was fantastic. You also get chips and salsa with your order, my fave chips by far. We enjoyed sitting outside! Our food came out so fast! Highly, highly recommend Taco Mama here in Daphne Alabama.

Taco mama used to be our “go to” Mexican restaurant in the greater Mobile-Spanish fort area. My wife and three kids have been going here for the last four years, but over time we have consistently left disappointed and I don’t think we will be returning. The service is good and the atmosphere is fun, but for the price of the food I was hoping to get more protein. The past three times I’ve been here I’ve ordered the “Fat Boy” burrito. The burrito is not balanced at all (e.g., the first third of the burrito was nothing but refried beans, then it’s was the lettuce/rice/cheese, then the steak was at the bottom). Maybe it’s just me, but when I bite into a burrito I want all the flavors all at once? Additionally, for $16.50 I would have liked more than seven quarter sized bites of steak. The burrito was so unbalanced I had to abort the burrito plan and just scoop the inside contents onto my plate and have a makeshift burrito bowl. This has been a pattern. I would recommend “DeMaiz” over Taco Mama any day of the week.

✨ We stopped by tonight and had such a great experience. With about 30 minutes until closing, we were greeted at the door by Emma who was so friendly, she explained their build-your-own style menu and made us feel right at home.
I ordered the Beef Nachos and they were seriously delicious — fresh, flavorful, and loaded just right with all of your favorite toppings. The atmosphere is beautiful and laid-back, with two big beautiful full-view garage doors they open up when the weather’s nice. It makes for such a fun, open-air vibe that’s perfect for relaxing with good food and drinks.
Highly recommend giving them a try if you’re in the area. Big thanks to the entire team — everyone was awesome.

Was on a work trip to the area and located this place. The young lady who took my to go order was very kind and patient. She walked me through the menu options. I waited about 5min and while waiting the offered me water. Things like this go a long way in my book. The place has many drink offerings and indoor outdoor seating. I would recommend this place and when I return to the area I will be stopping back by. The food was great.

Sunday evenings can be tough for finding a decent meal, because many cities become food deserts, especially if you’re looking for something less than a big chain experience. That was my sinking feeling one Sunday evening not long ago when I exited then 10 freeway just east of Mobile, and started searching for dinner. All I saw were the usual chain eateries. You know. The ones that have nailed it on consistency I suppose, but also become far too predictable.
And boring.
I was ready to nibble on snacks until I saw Taco Mama at the end of a small strip mall. They were open, there were plenty of cars, and I was going in.
To be fair, you could argue that Taco Mama is a chain, but it is Alabama-centric, and still few in number. Close enough for me. I know I can usually count on something interesting and unique, and Taco Mama did not disappoint. I ordered a build-your-own burrito, but could just as easily opted for similarly bespoke tacos, bowls, nachos, and quesadillas. I love it when everyone gets to get it their way. Special high praise for offering tofu alongside the beef, pork, shrimp, flounder, tuna, chicken, chorizo, barbacoa, and veggies. Love all, serve all.
While my food was being prepared I sipped a Good People IPA from Birmingham. It was so good I ordered an encore to go with my food, which with tofu, rice, tomatoes, and black beans was delicious. My only regret was that I still had about a hundred miles to drive to Hattiesburg, and I knew I cold easily slip into a food coma.
The atmosphere is perfect, festively lit and decorated. I could easily hang out here a lot if I lived nearby. You should too.

Had the Mayor taco combo. That was 2 chicken tacos and a side ( I chose refried beans) got one with flour tortilla and one corn. The chicken was tender and very delicious. It wasn’t dry, but was moist ( unlike mine at home! ) the refried beans were smooth and delicious. Chips and fresh salsa come also. The chips were thin and crispy, just like I prefer. Also ordered a blood orange margarita, which the nice person at the register recommended. She was spot on as it was excellent!
The only downer was we didn’t experience a server. It’s an order at the counter kind of place and they bring out the food to you.
Highly recommend this restaurant!
