Love this place. Food is delicious. Montgomery and St. Charles both equally good. Lorenzo and Isiah just to name a couple. Everyone is great. Would have given 5 stars except now they charge for chips. Oh well

I recently had an Uber Eats delivery that included a steak burrito. The burrito was delicious and had a satisfying portion size. I also ordered an assortment of tacos: Carnitas, Al Pastor, Quesabirria, and Steak Tacos. All of the tacos were flavorful and generously portioned. Additionally, the guacamole and chips were also enjoyable.

If you’re looking for bland, flavorless food with zero spice and a seriously gentrified vibe, Taco Madre in St. Charles is the place. The “loaded” fries didn’t even come with pico de gallo, you had to pay extra for that, which is wild considering it should be a basic topping. The quesadilla came with just a side of sour cream and a tiny sprinkle of pico tossed over some lettuce, no guac, no real effort.
The salsa bar? Don’t even bother. Every option from mild to “spicy” was completely bland. It felt like flavor was an afterthought. And don’t be fooled by the reviews saying this place is affordable. It’s overpriced for what you get, honestly felt like Chipotle, but worse. At least you know what you’re getting with chipotle, AND they have more flavor!
This was one of the most mid places I’ve ever eaten at. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re actually looking for authentic taste or value.

We grabbed lunch here today and it was delicious. We have had there food before from there food truck but this was our first time at the restaurant and it didn’t disappoint at all. I have to say they have the best chicken taco I have ever had in my life. Every thing is super fresh and cooked perfectly. Thank you so much for an amazing meal.

One of the most delicious Chimichangas I’ve ever had. They made it exactly the way that I wanted it. It was cooked perfectly. It was flaky on the outside and the chicken, green peppers, onions and cheese on the inside were tender and juicy. I used the guacamole and sour cream to garnish it and it made it even better!! The refried beans were perfectly cooked. They’re smooth, creamy and were the best side to go with my Chimichanga. Both portions were too much for me to eat in one meal. I’m so glad that I had leftovers. They were just as delicious the next day. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, I highly recommend checking out this place. You won’t be disappointed. I sure wasn’t.

Delicious!!!!! My favorite taco here is the Mayan tacos – steak bacon pineapple and avocado! So good!
When you eat here they give you chips and salsa. The salsa has a slightly smoky flavor. Not super spicy – just flavorful!
We also got a steak burrito bowl. Large portion and very flavorful.
They also offer a salsa bar where you can go and pick from several salsa options to bring back to your table or bring home.
Definitely would recommend Taco Madre!

It is such a clean nice atmosphere with hispanic music in the background which really adds to the affordable food yet delicious good quality food that we were eating. Our taco madre fries were delivered so well and tasted so good! We loved our experience at this restaurant in terms of the polite service and food as well as the restaurant cleanliness itself. We enjoyed eating there and looking forward to it again! ❤️ I definitely recommend coming here.

A couple of things to note- there’s a “salsa bar” just inside the front door to the left as you walk in. You wont notice and no one has ever even told me it was there. We left after dinner on the first visit and saw it on the way out. Shame no one told us about it when we ordered. Second visit, we only remembered half way through. Tip to the owners- move that thing to somewhere visible or at least tell people it’s there when you deliver their food, the flavor improvements from those great salsas will help your reviews.

The tomatillo salsas is killerrrr. The other ones are really good, too. Be sure to add some of these salsas to whatever you order. It will definitely help take it from decent to amazing. Also, if lime is your thing, ask for a few lime wedges.

Chips and salsa are great.

The chorizo queso is good. Pour some on your tacos. Owner tip – upsell sides of queso, people will thank you for it.

I’m pretty basic sometimes when I want tacos. Last trip, I ordered steak tacos with steak and cheese only. First bit was meh (yeah, I know, my fault since I ordered them so plain). Bit then I took matters into my own hands and poured some chorizo queso on them, went to the counter and asked for lime wedges then squeezed some lime all over them. And then topped with the tomatillo salsa and some of the salsa that came with the chips. Holy crap. Insane flavor. Pour the tomatillo salsa on your rice, while you’re at. Live on the edge!!

The Elotes (prepared here as corn with parmesan cheese, mayo and lime) are really good as well. Try it. You won’t regret it.

We’ll keep coming back, staff is friendly and now that we’ve found our jam, food is excellent as well.
