Had the tacos pastor. Meat was perfect. Super big pieces and deliciously marinated. Salsas were awesome and spicy (so be careful), but the best was a mild salsa verde. Corn tortillas were fresh, hot and high quality.

BEST TACOS IN IOWA!!! I am very confused by the negative reviews to say the least… Our server was super friendly! Pastor and asada tacos were super filling and seasoned PERFECTLY! Get the QUESABIRRIA quesadilla!!! Our chips and salsa were complimentary but I would definitely pay for them even if they weren’t. The salsa actually had spice and flavor! I thought pricing was inexpensive. Cannot wait to make this a weekly spot!

Restaurant was empty. Drinks were not offered until seated for 10 minutes. Ordered a chicken burrito and waited another 10 minutes. As I stated, no one else was in the restaurant. Phone wasn’t ringing so phone in orders not being received either?
Burrito was very bland tasting, chips and salsa are an extra charge and A GLASS OF WATER WAS $1.04. I have eaten at over 1000 restaurants and never charged for a glass of water!!!
I will not be eating at this establishment again.

If you haven’t been to this absolute gem, you need to!! The service is incredibly attentive and kind. The food is OUT OF THIS WORLD for authentic Mexican food in the Midwest! The menu is massive and the place is clean and so inviting! ♥️ Everyone finished every morsel!

I thought I was in for a nice surprise after I ate the chips and salsa. The chips were nice and the salsa was pretty good, but the rest of the food was very bland and dry. I got a steak burrito(it fell apart), one steak taco, and two birria beef tacos(they were out of goat). The steak tasted like it had been cooked and sat for some time and didn’t even taste like it had any seasonings at all. The birria was ok at best, but still fairly bland. The burrito, which was in a diner style red basket fell apart as soon as I started eating it, and the rice, which I assume was Mexican style rice looked like white rice was also tasteless. The server barely served me, and asked if I was ready to pay before I even finished eating.
As I was leaving, I noticed a table that hadn’t been cleaned yet still had plenty of rice left on a couple of the plates, so I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who felt the rice was not very good. Chips and salsa are the only thing that saved this

Very nice and clean space. Bright colors and murals share a love of culture. Server was very nice and answered my questions about the tortillas. I had the Birria soup. There was so much I had to get a to-go cup. I feel like I want to try everything on their menu. Prices were good as well.

Right after you sit at the table, they bring you a plate of chips and salsa (complementary) – that salsa is some of the best I’ve had in the US. We forgot to click pictures of all that we had for dinner, but here’s the list: birria (goat) burrito, pastor (pork) burrito, queso (cheese dip) on the side, and lemonade. They gave us the Dole lemonade bottle (which still had more than 50% in it), after preparing our drinks – probably no other restaurant in town will do that!
We love all of their three salsas, but especially the one that has a smoky flavor. They’ve decorated the interior nicely and there’s enough space too. Definitely my top Mexican restaurant in town right now!

The Mexican food is very authentic, and I could believe that I am just next to the border when eating here.
