Just stopped in for a quick bite on the way through to Colorado. Despite the help wanted sign on the door for all positions and a lot of customers, the guy at the counter was very pleasant and let us know there would be a wait for our food. The guy that was bringing food out was also very friendly to all the customers and apologized for the wait. Our food was great and we thank you for your friendly service considering you were short staffed. Keep up the good work!

Need a quick meal during a long road trip, stop here! The food was made quickly and tasted great! The kid at the register recommended the taco bravo and I’m glad I tried it! The crunchy taco inside a soft taco with refried beans is genius! The flavor was amazing and the texture was good! The tots with tacos is a funny paring but was good! I enjoyed all the crunches and textures. Very filing, highly recommend!

Great place to stop when traveling on I-70. Food is good and the place was clean. Staff was nice but double check before you pay. My wife asked for no onions and got no sauce on her burrito as well. I think the person who was taking the order did not totally understand. Other than that, the food was hot and fresh. If you get a combo, the large potatoes are large. Don’t forget a cup of cheese for your potato ole’s. Someone ordered one of the Mexican Pizzas and it looked really good. On top of everything else, we got our food pretty fast. Please note that there hours are changed to temporary hours. See my picture for the times.

Under the old management this place was pretty good, but it recently got sold and it is awful now. Out of the last 4 times we’ve been theyve messed messed up three.
They always add mild sauce to the tacos, they can’t make teas right, and the employees aren’t great either. Today was the worst. They messed up everything, cold food, bad tacos and teas, it sucked. On top of that the burritos are slightly larger than half as big as they used to be. While thats likely a corporate decision we still paid $11 bucks (per meal) for cold small burritos.

The “manager” wouldn’t stop giggling with the guy in the back. Our whole order was very messed up and redone so poorly it was absolutely intentional. The guy running the register tried to help but he had to deal with that lady flirting loudly his whole shift.

You better check your order before leaving the store. We got shorted on our order but didn’t catch it until we got home. Went back with receipt in hand and spoke with the on duty manager. We were reluctantly informed that she would give us the shorted item this time but not again because she gets this all the time from the I 70 traffic customers. We were labeled as a lier and thief. For thirty years this franchise has been the go to place, not any more. Colby Kansas.

Horrible people work there! Uncaring, unfeeling employees!
My disabled wife and I had been driving across the country non stop, exhausted and starving, and what seemed like a beacon of hope, we saw on our path… Taco John’s. We were excited as it was a chance to have something else besides truck stop food or worse, McDs. It was late and Waze told us we would make it by 10 minutes to closing… so we pushed it. We arrived and right away I could tell they weren’t happy to see us. We were driving a huge 26 foot moving truck and towing a car and managed to squeeze it around the drive through since the worker cleaning up the outside wouldn’t let me go in and pointed at the drive through. So I did my best to get as close to the speaker as I could. The guy told me rather sarcastically, you’re gonna have to pull around to the window cause I can’t hear you through your loud truck. It was even more difficult getting the truck to the window and although they saw we were having a tough time and instead of welcoming us, they ignored us. I said hello but the drive through employee continued to ignore me and then did the crappiest thing… he started taking the order of the car behind us. I was so pissed, I admittedly cursed and shouted and blew that loud truck horn and then we went on our way, hungry and defeated. Hope you’re happy with yourselves, Taco John’s in Nowhere, Kansas. You must live horrible lives in that small nowhere town, the way you treat people. Hope you have the life you deserve!

This Taco John’s was super clean, very fast and one of the best Taco John’s I’ve ever been to. The staff was friendly and the food was prepared when I ordered. That made those Potatoes Ole the crispiest and freshest Potatoes Ole I’ve ever had! This seems to be a pretty happening place as it got really busy right when I was about to leave. Great place to stop in Kansas for Taco John’s.

I’ve eaten at this location prior to my most recent visit, which was 1:12 pm on 10/14/25. This time though I’ve had serious regrets. I ate more than I should of of the beef burrito, before deciding it didn’t quite taste right. Thankfully the gastrointestinal distress started right as I got to the hotel I had reserved for 2 nights, about 8 hours after eating it. Really sucks cause I’d been craving taco john’s for weeks, and the service was quick and pleasant. But I won’t be eating at this location for a while now. I made the mistake of declining my receipt, but had never had an issue from this location before so didn’t think anything of it.
