First of all… let me just say that this Taco John’s location Rocks!!! I have not been here in ages and I am SO glad that we decided on this for dinner tonight! The cashier (John)… He has the BEST customer service skills! Very friendly, patient, personable, attentive, and thorough! Just an all around vibe that I really enjoyed!!!
But I also have to shout out to the ENTIRE CREW that was on duty tonight, including the Server that is listed on my receipt (Kevin B)! I ordered quite a bit of food and not only was everything accounted for, and made properly… it was all SO DELICIOUS!!! John and the crew that were working tonight all deserve recognition from their higher ups! Kudos to you all! Keep on being Rock star employees, keep making delicious food and keep putting smiles on peoples faces!

I love Taco John’s. The food is great and the service is generally very good. I’ve eaten at this location many times.
Tonight I had what I can only describe as a confused and disappointing experience. I missed dinner, was hungry, and knew Taco John’s was open till 10 pm. I arrived at 9:38 pm. The sign on the entrance clearly said that the lobby was open till 10pm.
I had intended to grab a quick meal, eat at the restaurant, and be out by 10 pm. However, when I approached the counter I was informed that the lobby was closed and I had to order my meal “to-go” . The staff clearly didn’t want me to dirty a table and seemed more interested in getting out at soon after 10 pm as they possibly could.
So here’s my question: What does the sign on the door mean when it says the lobby is open till 10 pm? Is the drive through open till 10, but not the dining area? I didn’t make a stink, but I pointed out that they were supposed to open till 10 pm and it was only 9:40.
I was rather PO’d when I left. Either change the dang sign on the door to align with the actual closing time that is in practice (9:30 apparently) or train your staff to understand what “open till 10pm” means.
Disappointed.

Taco burgers are awesome. Kinda similar to the bell beefers that taco bell had back in the 80s. The buns are just a bit too gummy for me. I buy them sometimes and go home and transfer all the good stuff to better buns. They are very unique.

the workers there are so sweet and helpful and they all get along and it was refreshing to see! the only reason I gave a 1☆ was my churro was hard as a rock and I was so looking forward to my treat. I would try it again because the employees are so great from drive through, to back to front of the restaurant was very pleasant and welcoming. Great price

The Richmond St. Taco John’s is a landmark. So glad it’s still there. But I have one criticism:
We go to Taco John’s for nostalgia – tacos and 80s music! Where’s the 80s? It can even be a mix of 80’s and 90s, that’s fine. Toss in a few modern tunes, that’s cool, too.
But we want pop and rock music (emphasis on 80s) in our Taco John’s! : )

Not only are they significantly cheaper than Taco Bell but the people who work there are fantastic! Polite , respectful, they know what customer service is, way to go!

This Taco John’s is super clean and well organized. They run a tight ship, and therefore, the staff is friendly and quick. During my visit, almost all of the business was drive thru. I had the dining room to myself and there was also a lovely outdoor dining area in the parking area which was vacant. That might be helpful if you are traveling with a dog. I always get the stuffed grilled taco. It is a sizable hard shell taco filled with meat, nacho cheese, and sour cream wrapped in a flour tortilla and grilled in a press. It’s just wrong. But, it the best possible way. I also get the beefy burrito which has raw onions in it. Let’s not forget the hot and crispy potato oles unique to this chain. Admittedly, these are Americanized, Tex-Mex, items, but they are well executed and so satisfying. That’s unlike the often upsetting fare found at the biggest taco chain. What’s more, John’s does have some street taco and other semi authentic options available. You know, some say, real tacos are covered in cheese… This chessey badger don’t care! I’m from Wisconsin, hey.

My chicken taco salad box wasn’t closed & when I brought it into the house it had tipped & when I took it out of the bag, the salad had spilled in the bag & onto my kitchen floor. I called & talked to a guy that said he was the manager & told him I was dissatisfied with my meal. He said I could bring it back & he would replace it, but I live on the other side of town & didn’t want to drive all the way back. I asked for a credit for next time or to be sent a coupon & he said he couldn’t do that. So I told him I wouldn’t be back.? He wasn’t interested in saving a customer.

Great, delicious food. Great customer service by Alijah. He is definitely made for customer service. I said something confusing when ordering, and then he said that it was his fault after resolving the problem. After he was done taking our order and everyone else’s, he was restocking and cleaning the lobby. Great job, dude.

Wasn’t very busy maybe two cars when was parked and the other was leaving. Food was freshly made. Olies were perfect. Not to much seasoning and were also fresh. Soda carbonation was . Wasn’t a single employee just standing around doing nothing. That also was good to see. Cashier was polite and helpful. I’m definitely talk quietly if she couldn’t hear me for nothing so she just told me to pull up to the window. Which helped immensely. Probably one of the best meals I had there. Was a chicken soft shell taco with a special sauce and had Pico mild sauce lettuce and cheese. Way to go Emily!! Your employees were nice and helpful. Drive thru was clean snd really like the new sitting area you put in. Funny thing is. I was one of the Managers at Larry’s Piggly Wiggly. Best part was none of them knew me and I didn’t know them. I’m very honest about customer service and presentation. I’ve been saying customer service etc since before covid/pandemic started. Has gone down the tubes immensely. Customer service especially. I didn’t start eating back out till about a year ago. Like to see people cook my food. Let me see you not wash your hands or use gloves when you make my food. I would not do anything or say anything to embarrass the person but I would pull you to the side and tell you. Your hands are filthy and if you’re handling money it’s even worse. Your fingernails alone. WHOLE lot of stuff you don’t even see. The money part is disgusting. Money actually has bugs/germs all over. I’ve seen Ppl not wash their hands after they go to the bathroom and then go make food .
