Customer service could use some improvements. Never ever do they mention the specials. I went without taco Tuesday for so long until I received an email about it. Potato Olés are delicious as well as the prickly pear lemonade. They tend to forgot the nacho cheese when we order it as an extra.

Update: after not visiting the location for nearly a year I decided to visit again. TJ has been great in other towns, maybe Janesville has gotten better. Long story short it hasn’t.
If I was corporate, I’d close this location down and sell it immediately.
Not only was the staff rude, the drive through took nearly 25 minutes and the burrito had ingredients that were supposed to be removed, while NOT including a few that were supposed to be there. The burrito was essentially falling apart and the meat was nearly a patty, not ground and seasoned at all. Beyond dissatisfied with this location. I’d rather have ramen than to eat at Janesville Taco John’s.

Such a unique culinary experience is rare for a fast food restaurant. The menu displayed in the drive through is more of a suggestion to the kitchen staff; to help guide them to make the entree choices they feel are correct for you.
If you place an order for the new quesadilla taco with beef, they might make the decision that chicken would fit your pallette better. Your requests of “no tomatoes and no onions” will surely fall on deaf ears as vegetables are a staple of a healthy diet.
When you have a bit of a drive ahead of you and request no ice in your drink (because who likes watered down beverages?), be aware they may still include the ice in hopes of getting you properly hydrated.
TLDR, 8 trips over the last 2 months and literally 8/8 drive through orders have been incorrect. Food is great when it’s actually made correctly, however.

Edit: I already left a good review a month or so ago but today I couldn’t keep my mouth shut about our visit today.
Idk if the older lady in the kitchen is a manager or a shift leader but she is SO rude and disrespectful to the staff. She made our food and incorrectly but yelled at the staff about it. Even if she had a ‘dispute’ with them about Oles not being ready, she should not be so loud we can hear her yelling from the lobby. I told the worker there that took our order not to let her be mean to him. Respect is not just given, it is earned and she lost it for sure. There is another review on here about a manager yelling and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the same lady. Everyone else we met today was kind and doing their best.

She accommodated our son when he got confused and thought we were at Taco Bell and wanted something on the menu that wasn’t here. We had a nice time!

This was my first time at Taco John’s and the food and service was GREAT!!! The young lady that took my order was super sweet and did a great job!!!! Also I was pleasantly surprised at how big the order of potatoes were for being a small. They were perfectly cooked and delicious the street tacos were good too!!! It was a nice changed from taco bell… will be back!

Must be a requirement to be rude to work here. We went by on Sunday 5/5, and placed a mobile order. They were out of their potatoe ole’s, fine things happen I get it. But the girl over the speaker acted like we should have known they were out. We even said it didn’t say it on the app, just to have her very snarkly reply “well we can’t change the app we just work here”. Then we told her to just remove one of the burritos we ordered because it was just meat and potatoes so no point in it. She said ok. Then we pull ahead to the window and after about a 10 min wait she practically throws the bag into our car, we were missing our nachos we ordered. We told her she yelled at us to look in the bag, they were not in there. She then looks and says “oh, here” practically throws the bag into the car and slams the window shut. No “thank you” no “sorry” didn’t even ask us if we wanted sauce. Almost 3 days later and I still have the $6 burrito charge. Literally paid for something we didn’t receive. Being new in town, people told us to avoid this place because of the attitude and now I see why there is never anyone here when I drive by. It’s sad because when you actually receive the food it’s good but that awful attitude just makes me want to go literally anywhere else.

The manager should not be scolding an employee while in earshot of customers. That conversation should be had behind closed doors, I don’t care if you received a nasty email. To top it off, manager made remark about if “she doesn’t get a bonus because of you all” then later goes “I love ya, but you gotta start getting things right.” Made the experience awful, I couldn’t finish my food.

Absolute horrible experience. Lady in drive through was rude, waiting 20 mins at window before anyone greeted us. Most of my order was missing, food was cold. We called up to the store about this, lady who was at drive through answered the phone, was super rude and would not do anything for us. When asked who the manager was she stated she was the night time manager then said she normally works during the day. Could not get her story straight. Then stated she was the only one there which was a lie, there was another guy with her. We will be contacting corporate regarding this matter. Never again will we eat there.

Ordered two breakfast burritos and potatoes ole. I asked for extra sauce when I ordered and at the window. At least I got one burrito… maybe my fault I didn’t check the bag. I called and they said we will give you a free burrito next time (I already payed for it), but I won’t be returning. I predict this location to close this year.

My wife and I stopped in one night to get something quick,so neither of us had to cook that night. From what we could tell there was only one person there working, maybe due to the snow storm we were getting. He took our order and had it ready 10 minutes later. Happy with our service that night.
